  • Muslims scums wont cheers with us at Christmas...

  • this the second most wonderful christmas story

  • Why just Christmas? Lets work out a truce every day, its only the Bankers, Politicians and Arms manufacturers who want the war to continue, and now of course its those blood suckers The Oil companies. All this is MAD, mutual assured destruction for the human race.

  • it shows that soldiers are also human, politicians & generals are not

  • @rrevamuntan I Agree but i believe that any soldier no matter what Rank is Human Because they are doing something that so many are not but politicians are not

  • This was a truce between civilized peoples who shared a common religion. This would never happen with the new age barbarians of the Middle East. Wishful thinking.

  • The so-called Christmas Truce of 1914 came only five months after the outbreak of war in Europe and was one of the last examples of the outdated notion of chivalry between enemies in warfare. In 1915, the bloody conflict of World War I erupted in all its technological fury, and the concept of another Christmas Truce became unthinkable.

  • i love this song

  • To imagine that the human spirit can hold both great terror and great love is atonishing. It's just a reminder, that in times of chaos, we always, search for order.

  • Really love this song. I wish are world could be like this always!!!!!

  • yes the spoken intro is by Johnny Cash

  • not that I'm idolizing, but just think of the strength of those men who put down their weapons after killing and watching others being killed for what seemed like forever, and walking straight up to the enemy and talking like old friends, singing christmas songs. Truly something to be inspired by.

  • Does sound like Johnny Cash.

  • we coulda ended the war then and there if only the generals knew how the soldiers felt.

  • @johnson1095 I don't think they cared :(

  • Try doing this with those savages in the middle east.. They would kill everyone.

  • lol the talking sounds like johnny cash

  • This song makes me wanna cry. I just wish that EVERY day was like that christmas night.

  • @johnson1095 It would be wonderful if it was. :)

  • This song makes me wanna cry. i just wish every day was like that christmas night.

  • I really wish I was there at the time

  • @wham41 May I ask why?

  • @DarkShores63 To witness the incredible event my freind, thts y

  • @wham41 Completely understood. It would have been amazing to be there, on that one night.

  • You would think we'd have learned from WWI that war is so stupid. Children could find better ways to settle our differences.

  • @Dauntless07 It just makes you wonder why we really fight these things.

  • Any mp3? :)

  • Agreed. :') Let's all be friends, dude.

  • That is true. For many British soldiers the first christmas tree they saw was during that truce. It just shows people are quick to adopt a nice idea.

  • Did I make a mistake somewhere?

  • is this Johnny Cash on the beginig of this video ?

  • I'm not sure to be honest. It does sound a bit like him, doesn't it?

  • yeah mate i bet thats his voice im huge fan of him :)

  • its collin raye that sings this song

  • Yes it is the man in black

  • A beautiful song. If only we could find a way to "study war no more"

  • Agreed :)

  • I am a history teacher (an American). I love other cultures. I love this and I am sharing it with all my students! Thank you for posting this.

  • You're very welcome, and I hope your students enjoy it!

  • @BliiNgBliiNgKiiNg

    Please do explain.

  • (Translated) I Love Santa Claus!

  • Hey I am an American and My European and Native American Heritage are something I am proud of.....Have a good Holiday Season.

  • That's funny, we're celebrating using part of your culture, because I thought lighting our Christmas trees was an old German tradition. Oh well.. Merry Christmas to you anyway ;)

  • great song.....if you like this then Search " badcrooner " on youtube to listen to Pete Russell's moving new Christmas song " At this time of year " written for the lost and the lonely

  • @badcrooner

I will do so; thank you for the suggestion. :)

  • Does anyone know who is singing this song?

  • @darklunmolly

    Collin Raye :)

  • i was hoping to find this song on rememberance day...

...To all those that have lost there lifes,

    We. Will. Remember.

  • this is my favourite christmas song ever, and i could also listen to this song all year long. it truly is a story that should never be forgotten.

  • @kbsquared44

It's an amazing song, isn't it? And it has an amazing message.

  • :'(

  • i donot about a Christmas truce happening ever again and it really pisses me off. Christmas is the only day of the year when everybody behaves themselves

and is some what civil to each other. Why can't we do this for the other 364 days of a year.

  • @drew23ish

    Agreed.

  • great thanks

  • Yea! DarkShores63 is right! armatus99 dont force your beliefs on us!

  • i love this christmas song and i could listen to it all year round. i hope that someday there wil be no more fighting and war on any holidays like christmas!

  • I completely agree.

  • if u guys think this is gd, watch the movie "Jouex Noel" its a movie about this night.

  • thank you so much, i had been trying to find this song again for such a long time. i learned about this event in class, and even without the music, i got chills. the lord really does work in mysterious ways. if soldiers-enemies, for that matter-can put aside their differences during one of the worst wars in history, i believe there is hope for this world.

  • God really does work in mysterious ways. And they always end up being beautiful.

  • i'm sorry but if there would be a god, those horrors would never have happened.

because on both sides were good men, and if your god lets you drowning in blood, what good is he?

  • But the problem is that you equate God with humanity. Humanity is not perfect, God is.

We're supposed to prove ourselves to God, not the other way around.

Send me a message! I'd love to continue on this discussion where I'm not confined by a character count.

  • You hit the nail on the head DarkShore...except we don't have to prove anything to God. He already loved us so much to send his Son that we don't have to do anything but believe in him. Not to say we shouldn't do our best to follow what he says...

  • Very well worded, sir! And how true.

  • Sounds a lot like Johnny Cash talking at the beginning. Is it??

  • @VertNinja

    it is.

  • This has been one of my favorite Christmas songs for years. Tonight I was listening to the song and was wondering if anyone ever put it on Youtube. I was happy to find it. Thanks for making this video. It's a great song and has a great message, its a shame more people haven't heard it.

  • This is a song I have listened to every Christmas since I was a child. And yet, every time I hear it I am still amazed. This is a beautiful song and probably one of my most favorite Christmas pieces. I hope the world today never completely shuts out what God is trying to do. He really is an amazing God.

  • This painting is beautiful, so much so that I cried looking at it. Someone once said that, at its best, art should reflect the world, not as it is, but as it could be. You show us how things could be if we really tried. If God moved the spirits of the soliders in 1914, what has changed? Could it be our spirits are not as inclined to his voice? Hopefully a few people with see this moving tribute video and tune into the real voice of Christmas

  • Thank you, I am a big Collin Raye fan and I've not heard this song before. That truce came so close to stopping all the madness. But then as now the leaders were fools. God speaks in a soft voice, drowned out by the pace of life. Too often we only see His influence in hindsight.

  • Thank you so much for showing us the way we could be. The channel to us is always open but we are to "busy" to get inn. You take good care and god bless you always. Stay in line. Bye for now.

  • Beautiful song and painting. Thank you for postiong it.

  • awesome 5*****

  • simply outstanding! There's no real word to describe how wonderful this song is!

  • Great song! Great video! Thanks for putting it together!

  • i love this song so much

    nice video!

  • this song is sooo moving. great vid!
