I used to like him (Criss) but the more I hear of him the more I dislike him .... He was a good vocalist on those first albums but I always thought his drumming skills were sub par.

I saw Peter Criss when he was touring with his solo band, Criss back in 1994. His band was tight. In the middle of the concert, his band broke out into this jazz piece which highlighted his drumming. I'm telling you that Peter Criss is an amaizing, underated drummer. My mouth hit the floor. He should do an all jazz record.. This album wasn't good, imo. If Peter was hooked up with thr right jazz producer, he would make a killer jazz record.
I always loved Peter in Criss. I thought that his and Paul's were by far the best KISS solo albums. I enjoyed part of his 80's solo records. I thought that Criss Cat from 94 was crap. Knowing that the great Will Lee would be on the new one, I was really interested to listen to One For All... It is utter crap! The songs are really bad... And the singing is awful.... Too bad because I have a lot of sympathy for Criss.

I, like many other KISS fans, dont care for Peter's solo stuff. But those of you that rip on Peter himself should be ashamed. The guy is in his mid 60's and grew up on Sinatra and Bennett. I've never attempted to research what I saw 1st hand so I never prepared other witnesses to corroborate my personal experience(s).
At the time,parents were instructed to burn their kid's Kiss albums,we weren't allowed to hear KISS. Its pretty simple & NOT far fetched,when Criss was kicked out of Kiss,an alcoholic on skid row,he was paid to do anti drug/booze guest speaking with film clips,which churches loved as Criss confirmed all they had warned us about Kiss.

I totally believe you, this last time his contract was expired and wasn't renewed, he went on a speaking tour to slam Stanley and Simmons ! I used to like him (Criss) but the more I hear of him the more I dislike him .... He was a good vocalist on those first albums but I always thought his drumming skills were sub par.

I can credit Criss "badmouthing" Stanley and Simmons; there was bad blood between them at the time and there still is today. It follows that he might speak ill of them in interviews and public appearances. Indeed, there are videos and transcripts of his doing just that. What i cannot credit is his claiming that the members of KISS were "Satan worshipers" who all did drugs and popped heaps of pills. You've made this claim without any evidence, and I cannot believe it until I see some proof.

Simple,Criss was on the outs w/Kiss,needed cash & christians at the time had a Major anti Kiss campaign going on so Criss starts doing guest appearances for churches to capitalize on the propaganda by supposedly pulling back the curtains to reveal the real Kiss & afford confirmation for all the shock tactics the church used.
The films may not even have been of Kiss but they were shocking drug/satan films & Criss narrated.

I saw Peter Criss when he was touring with his solo band, Criss back in 1994. His band was tight. In the middle of the concert, his band broke out into this jazz piece which highlighted his drumming. I'm telling you that Peter Criss is an amaizing, underated drummer. My mouth hit the floor. He should do an all jazz record.. This album wasn't good, imo. If Peter was hooked up with thr right jazz producer, he would make a killer jazz record.

I always loved Peter in Criss. I thought that his and Paul's were by far the best KISS solo albums. I enjoyed part of his 80's solo records. I thought that Criss Cat from 94 was crap. Knowing that the great Will Lee would be on the new one, I was really interested to listen to One For All... It is utter crap! The songs are really bad... And the singing is awful.... Too bad because I have a lot of sympathy for Criss.

I, like many other KISS fans, dont care for Peter's solo stuff. But those of you that rip on Peter himself should be ashamed. The guy is in his mid 60's and grew up on Sinatra and Bennett. He loves old swing music and stuff like that. He ALWAYS DID. Without Criss KISS would not have existed. So all KISS fans need to respect this man. Peter and Ace ARE KISS.
