@junkyarddogg89 This is the american mitsubishi here, and Dodges are pretty well built as of charger/ challenger/ Ram. Calibur replaced neon i believe Am I missing 1 between calibur n charger?

@eidairman1 I know the relationship between dodge and mitsubishi first of all, Im not stupid... Dodges are alright cars, but there automatic transmissions are not known for being durable... at all, especially chrysler transverse auto trannys.

@eidairman1 Based on personal/work experience I have to respectively disagree... I'm sure you can build em tuff but any problem can be solved if you trough enough money at it. And if memory serves me correct they used the caravan tranny in most of there FWD vehicles. I could be wrong on that.

@junkyarddogg89 @eidairman1: Sadly you both are mistaken in a few things. 1) the car isn't running a caravan transmission. its the 3speed automatic found in the neon. 31te. As a matter of fact they are really really good drag racing transmissions. Majority of the 10sec and faster neons use them. And relativly cheap to build

2) The neon is not an American Mitsubishi. The DOHC motor in that car is 100% built by Chrysler along with the ones found in the 1gn and 2gn non turbo eclipses.

@wickedgood4684 little known fact, Mitsubishi paid for the copyright to make the Dodge engine, that's why the 4G63 is similar to the Neon engine. Also both engines roots go back to the 2.2 and 2.5 of the the eighties. AND BMW was so impressed with this engine that its what they used in there new MINI's in 1.6L size.

@rupchurc automatic is gay, but it does shift quicker than manual... so for the best quarter mile time its a good choice, personally i just love shifting gears maually and i would never run automatic :P

People with brains that complain about people driving very fast cars that are auto aren't saying is slower (which old autos are be a little bit), it's just that why should you build a car that fast and not know how to drive manual. If you build something like that you should put the time into learning to drive properly.

For the people complaining A well put together auto is the best set-up for drag racing cause unless yor tranny dies or you mess up your lauch you run almost the same time everytime can you shift in milliseconds? A race auto can be in the next gear before you even push in the clutch pedal.
