my mum had melanoma but she caught it early and was lucky enough to recover. im so proud of her for that and this video is really important i hope people take this and think twice.
@sexysharinganinja800 yes, people with fair skin are not the only ones that can get melanoma, people of every age size and colour can get it because we all have melanin in our skin, it is what gives us our skin colour and darkens with the sun it is also what is damaged by Ultra Violet light causing melanoma.
What's the big deal? Population control for all the snotty hotties who wouldn't talk to you in high school. Goth kids aren't lookin so dumb now, are they?
Don't get drunk at your sister's party and then call your ex-boyfriend's house at midnight and tell his Nazarene mother that he f*cked you and now you're p*ssed. It won't go over well at school.
Dear 16 year old me: Go for it. With all of your heart. You're on the right track. And don't let them get you down. You are NOT fat. And you'll never look this good again because you let them help you believe you weren't good enough.

i liked it up until the point where the guy says "as if ginger people didnt have enough problems". what exactly is he referring to? his own personal problems of being fat and ugly???? why is he even talking about that in this ad?
Living in Malta and with the Med Sun soon to be at it's height, this needs to be taken notice of now!!!!!! All you beautiful people, watch and listen or you may not grow up to be a beautiful Adult.
how do we know its not just a state of mind? I had dengue fever back in 06', if i get it again chances are it would be fatal, but i've lived positive in tropical locations without 'fear' of it or any forms of death.. i guess if it happens, then it does, but i dislike seeing preachers feed kids 'fear'.. we only live here once, so enjoy it while it lasts,
I knew 2 young men who lost their battle to MM. This is for real. Sunburn was a way of life when I was growing up, and being a red haired, fair skin woman in her 50's. Well, we just didn't know. I also had 80% of my body experience 2nd degree burns because the aloof little girl, flirting with a boy, forgot that they had just changed the bulbs in the tanning bed that she chose for me. Took me a month to recover from the acuity of that, but, well, I just don't know. Love love love this video.
One of my friends was diagnosed with it early, thank God. I may be South Asian, but even *I* burned when we went to the Himalayas, and ever since then, put me in direct sun and I can feel the prickling start. I use SPF 30+, and I've just tweeted this and shared it on FB with all my friends. If just one person sees this amazing, deeply touching video and gets checked, it'll be worth it. Thank you.
Hi Meghan! I hope you are cancer-free! I'm mostly of Irish-Swedish background - which means I don't tan, I burn. This video has inspired me to be a lot more vigilant ! I've had a non-cancerous mole removed this past year, but even that didn't shake me like this video did. I truly hope all of those making snarky comments wake up and take this seriously. Enjoy the sun AFTER you put on sunscreen! You are an attractive and effective spokesperson for this cause! Keep up the good work!!!
I'm a 27 year old guy, I sent this via Facebook to the youth that I know and the ones I teach martial arts to.
Being a future nurse it is the information that we spread using simple methods like videos that open up eyes and catch attention. Especially with the high use of Facebook.
@YawnGod Not a lot of fair-skinned, red-headed black people out there . . . . >.> . . . Seriously though, due to the high collagen production in darker skinned people, their skin protects itself better, leading to lower chances of skin cancer.
@YawnGod Skin cancer is disproportionately higher among white people than other races. It shouldn't be surprising, nor is it racist, that the video consists of white people. Just like black people suffer from sickle-cell anemia at a higher rate than other races, skin cancer is the white person's bane.
Right now, i'm thanking my mom for constantly making sure I take care of the skin i'm in since I was born. If it weren't for her, I think my chances would be very high, as my grandfather died from skin cancer related complications. This is a great message to all young teens out there...heed their advice.
Hey everyone! I'm the red head in the greenish/blue top in this video and also the founder of Surviving Skin. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all your amazing comments.
