  • im no idiot. I could of sworn i saw the bit break when it fell so how is it that there was a full bit when they picked it up?

  • that is absolutely retarded. you should have just dropped it from the building, instead of doing some unnecessary "test". besides, the drill kind of scraped the wall, lowering its velocity. p.s. my leaf blower is a craftsman, and its broken. i guess you didn't drop that one before you sold it?

  • lmao so this is were lady gaga gets her custtum ideas lol duct tape

  • To be honest, I love craftsman hand tools. Everything else craftsman makes sucks. Probably cause none of it is made in the USA like the hand tools. I will always buy craftsman hand tools.

  • hard 2 belive

    thats amazing :D

  • dude this is freaking awesome....I'm gonna do this- AWWWW DO NOT ATTEMPT!?! Darn!

  • Where exactly is this "abandoned warehouse"? A couple people uh... want to know...

  • lmao, what the hell?

  • I want the song

  • I thought the craftsman beat was neat, but this is just dumb, sorry guys

  • pretty lame lol

  • idiots!

  • yea you could have cut that down to about 20 seconds..

  • I am appalled!!!!!!!!!!! As the spokesperson for PETM (People for the Ethical Treatment of Mannequins) this is truly an outrage -STOP THIS NOW!!! STOP ABUSING MANNEQUINS.

  • @bgbyer hahah

  • your treatment of your own sense of humor is spectacularly horrid

  • I will be sure to get your approval before I post from now on.

  • @bgbyer

    damn, that mannequin was hot.

  • Just not cutting them any slack at all for attempting a "remotely" entertaining (overly built up, waste of time) commercial, internet comments are hilarious

  • stupidest thing ive ever seen in my life

  • Pathetic.

  • I have that tool box jajaja...

  • Gee... can I have their job to do stupid stuff. Bet it cost over $100,000 to produce that video.

  • Fake and very sad effort at that. Sears quality (and now reputation) is falling faster than a dummy on a bike.

If your going to do such a stupid stunt - at least do not expect us to believe the edited/faked "still works" assessment at the end. Shows us one take. Show it with the broken drill bit. Show it with the duct tape still on it. Show it with the cracks in the housing.

Just because executives at Sears were born yesterday - dont expect your customers to be.

  • Craftsman, I hope you're reading these comments. What the hell are you doing? Trying to catch the JackAss-watching-slack-jawed-idiot demographic? Is this some kind of impromtu focus group? This is just stupid. Instead of torching money on JackAss commercials, spend your resources on product development, improvement, and honest testing in real world usage. Grow up.

  • @Gary21403

Well seeing if I was working at a construction site that is 5 stories high, there is the possibility of me dropping it, id call that a real world possibility.

  • Craftsman drills are ryobi low end stuff. Sears way too big on hype low on substance.

  • Sorry. To be accurate you needed to show the drill after it hit the ground WITHOUT THE EDITING! I have no idea if that was the same drill. BOGUS!

  • wtf!!!!!!!!???

  • That's pretty terrible :/

Plus, the drill bit clearly broke: 1:39

  • The battery came out. Common on cordless drills when they fall.

  • it wasnt that bad. i dont know what all you people are talking abiout

  • i will NEVER buy from sears or crapman AGAIN! lame.

  • guaranteed that the battery was kaput on the drill.I've had them and if you look at it wrong the connecting straps inside the battery break.

  • eh, lame... i would have just put the drill in a spud gun type contraption (with separating seals to launch it) and fired it downwards from top of the building onto the tool box... tool against box...

  • every part of this offended me

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • this is just an awful viral video attempt. if i ever need to buy a drill, i will buy a different brand, just because craftsmen wasted several minutes of my time.

  • Hehe. Funny - but with a message. Super viral ad.

  • why didnt those guys just trow the damn drill over the edge insted?

  • that is so stupid and lame

  • una mierda

  • i would like to thank you craftsman for making me want to kill myself.

  • Moron Proof?

  • this is stupid. i wasted 2 minutes of life!

  • @25Snugs25 THat would make sense but you dont have one.

  • that was stupid.

  • FAIL

  • waste of my time

  • wow

     gayest thing EVER!!

  • Idiots "engineer wannabe". What the hell is that for? Not a bit scientific.

  • Why does this only have 2 stars? this is fantastic!

  • Lame...................

  • same here. forget these adds and CNN too

  • White fags

  • 1:40 broken bit 1:48 brand new bit

I would have felt alot less grumpy at ya had you left the broken bit in while showing the drill still worked. Seems awfully shady.

  • Why not just drop it from the moon, watch it streak across the sky in a fireball AND THEN high five each other and let's see if it works. In Ad World, I'm sure it will.

  • Drill bit breaks in the first shot, when the blokes come down to check it, its not broken. This is the worst advert ive ever seen

  • the drill survive b/c it did not really hit the ground from that high up. The mannequin hit the wall of the other building 1st. This soften the blow to the drill as it also hit the wall and then hit the ground. Obviously the drill bit broke and was replaced with a longer drill bit for effect. This was alright but would had been a lot more efffective if the dummy didn't hit the wall. Think of it like falling from a tall tree, u wont die if you hit every branch down b4 u hit the ground.

  • The drill survived because the script said so.

  • as children

  • when the drill hits the ground, it has a short bit(from being broken) then suddenly in the last shot, ITS Magically repaired! amazing.

  • yeah, but they were showing off the drill itself not the bit.

  • So freaking stupid!

  • I could see this being real. When it hits that wall, drill first, it would have ripped it out of the hand and bounced down. That woudn't have bent the drill bit.

  • Lmao... extremely random.

  • Hey folks -- just want to address the questions regarding the video. We shot multiple takes to get the best footage we could with a limited number of cameras. What you're seeing is these different takes spliced together to make the video.

There are some continuity issues, but not because we replaced the drill with a brand new one. What you're seeing is exactly what we did. There was no replacement drill or stunt double. The drill in the video was dropped off the roof and survived.

  • @craftsman don't try to reason with youtube users. Its pointless.

  • I wish I could give you a negative review..

    Stanley makes better tools...

  • Wonder if the owner of the building across the alley, the one the bike/toolbox rig bounced off of, is a big fan of Craftsmen tools after this?

  • BULLSHIT!!! Craftsman crap SUCKS. The drill did lose the tape, a very sad attempt at trying to make a wanna be cool video. Their tools were OK when built in the USA but not now, all the crap From China is the same.

  • I call bullshit as well

  • Fake! Drill started off with the triggered ducktaped to ON.. but after the fall, the tape is gone.. BS!

  • It is funny, but I am just not a big fan of the whole corporate meme shit... so I give it a poor rating...

  • NOWAI U GUYZ THAT DRILLZ ARE TEH KEWLEST.

I can drop objects off a roof and replace them with brand new ones too. Goodjob.

  • @RejectedHypothesis its the same drill the whole vid

  • "Do Not Attempt" Yeah, because I'd find out my drill would actually be damaged if I tried to replicate this. I have a Craftsman cordless 19.2 volt drill and I like it but I hate deceptive videos.

  • I'm still mourning the loss of that mannequin. she was so lovely.

  • I'm calling shenanigans on this one. Look at the bit as it's bouncing on the ground. It has snapped off. They pick it up and pop the battery back in, and magically, the bit is 5 inches long again. Yay movie magic.

  • maybe a new drill bit....

i'm guessing the tool box didn't fare to well either since it isn't shown much afterwards

  • Exactly right mate. I noticed it too. Doesn't matter how good the drill is, dropping it on the chuck from any significant height will always bend the output shaft. You'd think the idiots that edited it would have noticed. They think consumers are stupid.

  • wow! tough drill!
