its a kick flip roll used loads when you play cuz u use the none power face iof the blade to keep the back of the boat out the water aftyer the double pump quite difficult to do i wud kno :)

i think mines a hybrid ish roll.

i usually slam to the back of my kyjack adn only use one hand to get upright

im a kyjack poloer so i keep the ball close to my body when i roll. then it wont float into the othetr teams hands. and i usually dont have my paddle annymore since i have the choise ball/paddle. the ball is vital in the game so not realy a hard choice

urban nd other bloke, cnt yu see tht the roll is hybred, so its not an attempt at a backdeck, that roll is used in play and freestyle situations and not intended to be a backdeck, but its crossed with a backdeck. Looks like a double pump to me but yu never kno.

the bdr gets alot of bad press, it is possible to protect your face between using paddle and arms. also because it is so fast you wont be over for long. furthermore, when you go over alot of the time you'l be on the backdeck already so theres no setting up involved

if i flip right above a drop that i need to run right side up or im in a hole i use the backdeck roll

otherwise i dont want to need plastic surgery=)

He was setting up for a flatwater cartwheel, and stalled it, causing him to flip and need to roll. If you want to see it in slow motion, start searching for Flatwater Cartwheel Kayak vids and you will find how to do them in slow motion.
