I do think Joe is responsible though, In all honesty he followed protocol for the situation by reporting it to the people above him. He really doesn't have the power to fire the assistant coach himself the people above him do. I can understand that he could have done a little more but he did what he was supposed to. There are so many things about this that infuriate me. One of them being that Sandusky laid a finger on these kids. The other is the ridiculous blame game that's going on. Yes, after reading the indictment, it's obvious that he had been doing this since the late '70s.
I agree that Paterno should have been fired. That's the only thing to be done. However, the real reason he was fired is because people whose responsibility it was to report this to the police don't want to be found out.

Whoever they are (I'm sure it's every darn person on that board) they're about to caught red-handed. I don't think it's fair that is being blamed for all of this. Like the indictment said, this had been going on since the mid to late '70s. He reported what he was told second handed, he wasn't invited to discussions of later investigations, the police dropped 2 cases after testifying tha they were instructed to do so. All of this is happening and apparently it's Paterno's fault. smdh

They made a Law and Order: SVU episode about this. At the time I didn't think it could have been real because it was just so sickening to think about but then I heard about Penn State and I was shocked. People are always trying to find safe recreational activities for their children so they don't have to play on the street. How dare nasty old men take advantage of children and how dare no one do anything about it. I wouldn't be upset if everyone who kept quiet got a hefty prison sentence.

I love the shirt ti... As a 13 year old girl, I am sickened by the whole situation. When he told whoever, it should of crossed his mind to go to the police. He could have prevented others from going through it but he chose to stay quiet and let it continue. I wonder how he sleeps at night, knowing what happened to those other children.
