@banuselvi You can use a flat iron, as long as the iron can get hotter than 425 degrees. Though wands are built to get very hot to form a bond, where as a flat iron is only meant to heat to straighten. Flat irons that go over I believe 400 degrees can damage your hair more and much quicker. (My roommate is a hair stylist)
Thank you for the video.I am ordering some tips and the iron to rebond my own. I can't afford to have the sylist do it. But tell me, why does the Keritan break down so easily. I have had my extensions in for 2 months and I have lost so much hair. The beads are still in but the hair is falling out. Do you buy already tipped hair to begin with? if yes, where do you get it. I use pureology like I'm suppose too. A stylist told me not to let it air dry, to get it dry ASAP...What do you think?
I'm sorry you are having trouble with your install. There really aren't any quick and easy answers. It could be a number of things from inferior keratin, the coatings on the extension hair, chemicals in your water, temp on the iron, poor bond saturation, poor bond forming...try a different shampoo/conditioner. keep the conditioner FAR away from your bonds. Join a hair extension forum, I bet you can get some good advice!!
Thanks for this video. You were the inspiration for my video's.... I have learned to make and install my own hair extensions and have saved thousands of dollars..You rock
I want to thank you sooo soo much for making this video! I got the same wand as you from ebay (mine is pink tho) for $15.00, and a whole bag a glue pellets online, and tomorrow will be my second time retipping my extensions, I have had them for 6 months now, you have saved me $400.00 by not having to rebuy hair everytime!!! I am forever grateful to you!
Yes, using sticks and hot pots can be messy, inefective and expensive. Why use all that stuff if you don't need too? Glad I could help, and it's my daughter that was watching Dora :)
OMFG I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! i was soooo begging my mom to take me to but the already tipped ones which are like what 80 bucks? idk lol but yeah i saw this and i just peed myself with happiness[wow i sound like a lame ass lol] anyway gracias :D
it is keratin that you put in the hair before heat and you think that i can do it with one straightening iron tanks for help me if you answer my question
DO NOT APPLY EXTENSIONS WITH A GLUE GUN. really does tht even sound safe? u bond it on to a small section of hair near the scalp using the wand seen in the video
My loof wand was $35 I think. YOu don't need THAT particular wand, but I find I really like it. It gets nice and HOT and is consistently hot. I have tried a couple other wands and didn't like them. The silicone pad I use I made from a silicone oven mitt, NOT childs craft foam which would melt and be a huge mess.
do you think i HAVE TO use this particular iron?? what is keratin beads?? how much for some?? im very intertested to know, Thanx a bunch. maybe, ill teach you how-to make weft extensions (cheap)!!!! oh yeah, when you say "silicon pads," you mean something similar to childrens crafting foam??
Depends on many things: What are you looking for, length & volume, just volume? The length and thickness of your own hair matter to, shorter & thicker hair take more ounces to get a good outcome.
Very good question!! No, there is not enough keratin in a basic stick tip to use for fusion. You would need to either add keratin to the tip(a stick & gun work great for this) or just have some extra melted on your wand when you install. In my opinion, Liquid Gold would not work well to install a tip extension. The brand of wand i use is a Loof.
Once you have the tips made, is there enough glue on them to now apply them to your hair using the heat wand or do you need to use something like liquid gold to apply?
I am a first timer, and am gathering up all the info I can..
hi this may sound like a dumb question but can you show me how to apply keratin glue using a glue gun to the hair extension so i can apply it to my fusion hair extension???
You can also go to your local housewares store, grabs a thin silicone oven mitt and cut a rectangle peice out of it, maybe 1 inch wide by 1 1/2 - 2 inches long. They work great, are a TON cheaper then finger cots, don't stick to the bond and you don't have to worry about it not fitting your size finger.
I have a question..I have a long track of hair but I don't have a Fusion Wand to glue the tips together, can i tip them using hair glue or any other type of glue?
Try doing a search for extensions on google or yahoo. if you feel strand extensions are not the way you want to go, you could try taped extensions. Try looking up a couple hair extension forums, TONS of info on those sites!
Danielle - call salons in your area and see who offers extension services. They should be able to answer your questions and will most likely offer a consultation. Fees can be all over the place from $250 into the thousands. Typical fusion wearing time is 3 months, some places will tell you longer but IMO can cause damage and hair loss. Do a search on the net too, lots and lots of info!
You could attatch rings to the weft, but for a strand install using rings, you would need to snip the hair from the weft and tip. Tipping with keratin is just one way to do it. Many people tip with other substances. I prefer to tip this way because it is neat, compact and quick.
latex is a nightmare! You could try using Liquid Gold, which is another adhesive tho not latex based. IMO, it is also a nightmare to tip with, much too messy. Tipping as I have in the video is my perferred method and the only way I do it.
I'd like to know where you would recommend I go to purchase the fusion wand, and hair online?
I have purchased TWO wand online at ebay and neither of them work at all, and were really cheap to begin with. Also the keratin glue (I got two kinds, beads and sticks that you can use in a glue gun) was awful, and I buy hair at a local store but was wondering if I could buy it for a better price online...
connect-2-hair sell them online in their web shop and they also have a shop on ebay and their id is: connect2hairmanchester they have several types I think and have excellent feedback so you should be ok, hope this is of help

I loved the video! I just have one question: Is it possible to make a U-tipped extension? (I'm sorry if this is a stupid question)
LolitaHazeCI 2 years ago
Yes!! You just need a tool to shape the u while the bond is hot. Also a little more keratin would need to be melted for a u tip than a stick tip.

Thank you so much! The video is awsome and helps a lot! You just saved me A LOT of money!

Once you have the tips made you can either
A) glue them in with a glue gun or add more keratin OR
B) Use micro links to attach?? is this right?

asinnamon 3 years ago
Length mostly. I have curly hair, so volume is not really a problem. The humidity gives me that. LOL
My hair is about 3 inches past the shoulder & it's not very thick. My hair is a lot like Jennifer Lopez.
MsElegante2 3 years ago
How do you apply the hair after?
Do you do it the same way like if it was already keratin tipped hair or do we have to add more melted wax/glue ?
BaBy363 3 years ago
Yes, you would need to add a bit more keratin to apply these tips as fusion. If you are using rings, then the tips are fine as is.
asinnamon 3 years ago
Does that mean you can use the heat wand?
Mongglory 3 years ago
Very good question!! No, there is not enough keratin in a basic stick tip to use for fusion.
