UE rate was above 10% during Reagan, I guess he forgot about that point. In fact, during Reagan's 8 years, the UE rate average 7.5%, hardly anything to boast about. Only 1 minute into this and I can discount what he said. There is a solution to the debt problem. It's by making the rich pay their fair share of the taxes which republicans are adamantly opposed to. There has to be revenues coming in in order to back about a positive income. We could also let the bush tax cuts expire which hasn't created a single job since it was introduced. We could create more jobs by giving companies incentives to not outsource jobs but instead the opposite is happening.

The president(s) should cut back on their vacations. Business is business. Ms. Obama and family do not need to travel all over the place. If she does, stay on the president’s schedule & not cause more expense to us. I have not heard anyone in the political arena mention their own personal cutbacks. By the way, democrats are just as or more stupid than republicans.

I’d like to hear Congress agree to cutting their perks & benefits, and implement the same health care & retirement as imposed on us poor smucks. We need politicians who love our country & do what is best for our country, NOT what is in their own best interest & financial gain at the expense of us tax payers and our country.

We might pay a lot of tax here in Australia, but nobody goes bankrupt because of health issues, we have less than 5% unemployment, minimum wage is about US$650 for a 38 hr week and we don't waste 50% of our federal budget on waging war. You keep telling yourself that Republicans are the same as Democrats, I don't give a flying fuck either way.

@coffeebuzzz you have a better economy because your economy is based more on fundamentals and using your country's natural resources. Sadly, our is based on spending, which still makes no sense to me.
the US's problems have been building for 60 years. Democrats have controlled our congress for roughly 45 of those 60 years and the senate for 40 of those 60 years. Im a libertarian and ive been unhappy with both. I will say i think democrats are the lesser of 2 evils right now, but not by much.

UE rate was above 10% during Reagan, I guess he forgot about that point. In fact, during Reagan's 8 years, the UE rate average 7.5%, hardly anything to boast about. Not too mention Reagan increased the debt by 150%, saw interest rates hit 20% for a while, commit treason by helping Iran, caused another recession right after he left office and don't forget about the S&L bailout. Anyone who thinks Reagan was a good POTUS doesn't know anything other than what Fox News says about him.
