My gosh she is incredible. You have to have a really special bond with your horse to do what she does. I was lucky enough to meet her and get her autograph on Roxy's breyer model at the BreyerFest in 2009. I want to be able to do what she does so effortlessly. ♥
Hopefely if i het the new horse and foal i will be teaching her nateral horsemanship cant do thing like that with my horse she has come along way since i first got her buts shes stil an x-rachorse
My aunt in Fla. emailed this to me. What a wonderful way to start the day watching this...so beautiful to see the loving connection...and my tears welled up. It truly seemed like a spiritual connection. I always wanted to ride a horse as a kid, but my parents wouldn't let me. They are so beautiful and majestic. I still live in SF and would love to, but at 59, I just don't know. Stacy...thank you for any outstanding performance and teaching me the special connection humans can have with nature..
@Irondo11 go for it! :) you only live once! horses don't worry about age, they just worry that you care and treat them as they deserve to be treated. it's the best feeling in the world. ♥
Stacy Westfall is my idol, I only hope that I will someday be able to do what she can do. She has a very special place in my heart. She has a real connection to her horse and she understands roxy and roxy understands her. thats a bond you will never brake
Ive learned how to do this with my horse. Its all about leg pressure. So far its going really well. Thankyou Stacy for giving me the courage to try this!!!!!
This, this right here, is real horsemanship. This right here is real riding, being one with the horse. If you can do this, you can do absolutly everything...
holy. shit. I am not disagreeing with any of you I'm asking a question. Of course she probably puts hard work into this but I don't see to what point, it takes extreme skills yes, it takes hard work yes, I don't see beauty in this, training and breaking your horse to bow, get on its knees, spin around in circles 1:40, that isn't what horses are supposed to be. and yes I know how to ride, I ride everyday, and I don't train her, I "let her buck," horses are supposed to run, and be free with it
@paintBALLhero510 You are not riding your horse if she is bucking you off, and you obviously are not very good at riding. This is a beautiful example of a person and an animal in harmony. This horse is not fearful, or being physically dominated in any way. This is animal and human in sync... Beautiful!
@paintBALLhero510 so horses aren't "supposed to be" so connected and in sync with their rider that they can be ridden like this?? they aren't "supposed to be" a trusted friend and partner?? what are they "supposed to be?" i'm envious of her connection with roxy...i'd love it if i could connect with my horse on that deep of a level.
Every time I watch this video I cry. I cry of joy and sadness. I think about the bad life of all the horses around here and I see that it could be different..
I love this video, the ride must have been really meaningful for Stacy.
And I can appreciate what hard work this must have taken. When I tried doing this with my horse, it was unbelievably difficult at first and we still don't come within a thousandth as good as her. Amazing.
I can't believe there are people out there like paintBALLhero510. What a jealous insecure person you would be. Stacey's skills, determination & dedication are to be conggratulated. I wonder if you can even ride a horse, let alone train one to this level. And who cares who owns the horse - lots of professional riders ride other people's horses - it's their job. Well done Stacey, you should be proud of what you do and your achievements, i am sure your dad is watching you with tears of joy.
@PokeyRider1 I didn't say that it was east or that I could do it. It probably takes a lot of time to learn to do that but why? why would she put hours into this? oh and BTW both my parents died four months ago
the amount of trust between her and horse, and the amount of work they had to put into that, simply amazes me. it's a beautiful thing, and i hope one day, i can achieve that sort of relationship with my own horse. reining is a wonderful sport.
WOW....this brought tears to my eyes too!!! What an amazing horse and incredible riding skills to be able to ride with no tack like that! Congrats and sorry about your loss! I'm sure your dad is praising your name and very proud of you and all your accomplishments! If your ever in the Wyoming or Colorado area doing a clinic, please let us know!
This is beautiful. Look at the calm and quiet expression on Roxy's face! She barely even pins her ears when she runs, absolutely amazing. I'm 17 and I watch this almost everyday and it never gets old. It just makes you feel good.

Its because of trainers like Stacy and her talent for what she does that makes people like me keeps wanting to reach for the stars with our horses!!! Hats Off!
I'm an english rider, but I have some serious respect for this woman. If i could ride bareback half as good as this or if my horse was half as well trained, i'd be set!
I saw her live at Westworld in Scottsdale AZ once, ever since I have been trying to teach my QH mare to rein, no such luck. She is truly amazing and she is my role model, the one I look up to in the 'horse world'
i luve riding bareback... i only rode bareback a couple of times tho... the last time was wen i was 7... i havent riden bareback since but its amazing to feel that connected to the horse =]
@kayelover1 There must be something wrong with your eyes if you think you see a bridle on that horse. At the end of the video you can see she puts it back on after her ride.

I'm an english rider, but I have some serious respect for this woman. If i could ride bareback half as good as this or if my horse was half as well trained, i'd be set!

My dad passed away last month, and everytime I see this video I cry because I am also a rider, and everything I learned, I learned from my dad.

I saw her live at Westworld in Scottsdale AZ once, ever since I have been trying to teach my QH mare to rein, no such luck. She is truly amazing and she is my role model, the one I look up to in the 'horse world'

She's honestly the most talented rider I've ever seen.
She's incredible.

''Can your horse do this!?''
Yess. My horse can do this.
Any horse can do this.
Any horse can do anything!
It's just the human...
The next time you blaim a horse for anything other than curiosity,
Don't!

thats not exactly true, not any horse can rein, at least not well. they have to be built for it even if they arent bred for it.

@savvygurl03 THE HORSE HAS A BRIDLE IF YO LOOK
kayelover1 1 year ago
@kayelover1 There must be something wrong with your eyes if you think you see a bridle on that horse. At the end of the video you can see she puts it back on after her ride.
