My younger brother has them and they're so overrated. Don't get me wrong I love the bass, but they made the bass such a high priority that everything else sounds so muffled. You're better off getting the Sennheiser HD205 II DJ Headphones. I only got them for $100 and they sound a million times better than beats by dre.

They are certainly not that good and the bass is certainly not strong. It has a fair amount of kick and good attack for hip hop but overall sound is muddy, electronic and closed in. No soundstage and poor treble performance for the price. They are also extremely plasticy. Overpriced!

About the bass, my insanely more capable high-end sennheiser headphone is aimed for neutral and natural listening, and they have more bass than these. Beats kick, but the quantity of bass is lacking a bit. That actually surprised me at first...
