I seem to recall that the more levels you progress though, the more densely populated the forests are with trees, which means you have to have amazing reactions to weave in and out of the trees and still get your shots on target!
Amazing really. When you think about what you have to go through even to play a game these days. Download this - register that -- put in your security code number. Download latest windows update. Frig - have of the games only a few years old won't play on windows 7 - even in compatibility mode ie. bioshock.
Are they really making full use of hardware before companies obsolete a console? Not in my opinion.
@telemetry9 The whole of the internet, anti virus and life is controlled by the globalists. They sit on their arse and use others peoples talent to fund their evil. Bring back bedroom programmers or a team that don't sell out to big corporations. I'm on Windows XP. Never tried Windows 7. Tried Windows Vista and I hate it.
was the first game i ever played was fantastic dont remmeber the graphics being like that though , but with the speccy it allowed you to have an imagination and thats what made it fun :)
lol i know , but i just remmeber it being more realistic guess its just me , theres films ive always thought was in color too as i remmeber them in color heh , but yeah was awesome for the times which im sure inspired many games to come a true classic
probably the first spectrum game i ever loaded up. remember the fantastic loading screen. cracking game...gets the old adrenaline going on some of those later levels.
Definitely a bit of a stomach wrencher on later levels. The amount of trees seemed to vary on the first level. Your mate would play first and have about 3 trees then you would have a go and it would be like a forest.
Absolute stonewall classic of a game. Reminded me of the Return Of The Jedi chase scene in the woods! I spent hours of my acne-ridden childhood on this beauty.
MJ Escort was the programmer for this i remember. He did very slotting this into 16k. Wonder what happened to him. Wonder if he did any more i'm unaware of? In fact I may jus google him now. Christ, i have too much time on my hands lol!
As far as I'm aware he only wrote this, Full Throttle and Luna Crabs. He didn't last long in the Spectrum scene. He was probably sucked up by a big company and remained anonymous behind the scenes locked away in a cupboard.
Shame if that's what happened, make's me wonder how many other "bedroom coders" were snapped up by the big companys and ended up stuck knocked arcade/movie conversions.
The guy obviously had talent. It would have been interesting to see where his other games would have went, but I digress! It's about time the Spectrum and bedroom coders made a comeback. I've got this great idea for a game. It's called Manic Depression Miner! It starts out in a room called The Padded Cell and you have to escape from your straight-jacket. It's okay Doctor I'm just talking to someone on youtube. Must go...can't get any peace in this asylum!
That's it in one. It's still nerve-wracking driving through those trees. I can't believe this came out in 1983. What where Ultimate thinking when they saw this? Or the Sandy White Twins come to that! Better not go down that path again it's already caused a lot of trouble...lol!

Classic game that never dates.

This game is so fast it's unreal. It reminds me Return Of The Jedi when they are going through the forest on them speeder things

A great piece of programming for only 16K. So original and addictive. You can feel it when you crash into a tree.
