  • THANK YOU MR. ROBOTO!

  • Why do so many tech nerds click and jump around uncontrollably while trying to teach? I was lost after the first 10 seconds. It's a shame because this guy clearly knows what he's doing but a teacher? Not sure about that!

  • your voice sounds like robocop..

  • so this tutorial is for people who already know how to use photoshop and the point is??

  • terrible mumbling rubbish

  • This video saved my drawings!

  • Thank you thank you thank you. Now my line art doesn't look like scribbled horse shit.

  • hello guys, just wondering, I did this several times, but I dunno what happen, all of a sudden all my lines got really crispy, not sharp at all, it happens after creating the path and then the selection is very sensitive to the edges and it does not smooth the edges anymore, any suggestions????

  • I can't thank you enough! I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video for people like me!

  • cs5?

  • haha u kinda sound like smithers from simpsons xD

  • Brilliant, exactly what I was looking for, thanks a lot.

  • If someone could help me on a couple of things, I would be eternally grateful.

1.) Which brush is being used to outline the picture? I don't usually scan but draw my pictures directly into Photoshop with my tablet, would using this tool still work?

2.) After I select my lines and set my tolerance, my result are way crooked gray outlines that look nothing like what he gets in the video.

Any pointers would be so appreciated!

  • This video so helpful :) I design t-shirts & hoodies.. so I need smooth lines! :D thank you so much!!

  • u sound like microsoft sam.

  • where is levels in CS5

  • you kinda sound like microsoft sam....

  • thanks man this was very helpful

  • I don't have a tablet, just a mouse. Could I use this to clean up all my pencil and charcoal work and sketches?

  • I followed the instructions, but all i got was some thing string curved gray lines that overlapped every line. What did I do wrong?

  • whats up with the voice??

  • doesn't this create anti-aliasing?

  • Sweet video. Volume was a little low but still good.

  • Tut all nice and well, but dude, you have a way creepy voice...

  • the new path created, how do you fill it with black?please help

  • this helps me a lot man..im from the philippines and ive been looking on for this guide..ur guides helps me a lot in my hubby....thanks a lot dude!!!!!!!

  • holy shit i wish i stumbled across this earlier

thanks a ton dude, this really helps out.

  • Hey Jimi u are the man. bro u saved me shit loads of time 5 stars

  • your the mannnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!! jimmy, you helped loadsss!!!! yur da bloody man.

  • I dunno how this dude forgot the most important part. After you make your path and do ctrl + click in the path window to select it (then inverse the selection), you fill your path (Edit > Fill).

The guy probably hits the shortcut without even thinking about it. I still gotta say thanks for the technique, it works incredibly well

  • @daeyeth i want to ask how you edit~fill the image, when i try it ,the fill option appears grey and cant be selected, please clerify the step.

  • When I try to do this, the path only make white lines instead of a thick black line. I've tried to fill the white lines but it looks like shit, and now I've tried this for like more than an hour. I want an answer how the hell you do that, beacuse I do the exact same thing as you do but it doesn't work.

  • I can't see how you made the new path on a new layer. Can you help with this?

  • same for me

  • basically illustrator in photoshop.

im still having trouble in this though.

  • affter you ctr+click path idk what the hell u didi on the new layer to get the smooth inmage..mni=ind explaining plz?

  • ...he using a tablet? right?.. i think so..

  • Yea, he says he's using a Cintiq

  • this comment was a FAIL.

  • is that the ren and stimpy theme in the background!?

  • Thanks- Now I can vector w/out that stupid pen!! wHEN I STARTED I HAD TO PRACTICE VECTORIZING BY RE-DOING THE CINGULAR LOGO 50 TIMES... THAT WAS SICK!!! THANKS JIMMIE YO

  • Thanks for the tip. It has built more confidence in me to see a cleaner image to work on!

  • Actually this is like a waste of time compared to what I do, but it's helpful. The fast way I dicovered is the stamp filter. You don't even need a tablet to do this. You set your template to black and white and just use the stamp filter to get rid of dust and sketchy pixels. It makes things alot cleaner and thicker in no time at all. I'm not keeping it secret anymore lol.

  • Thanks alot bro this is going to help me alot..

  • im a beginner.. so how do i get to dust & scratches???

  • You know I didnt find this technique out until a few years ago. I kinda figured it out on accident. :) It's like an endless well of secrets.

  • Hey man, I just checked this out because you linked it to me from Emptees and somehow even though I've used Photoshop for over seven years you taught me something I never would have done, thanks so much.

  • Yay! I can make clean lines! Now if I only knew how to draw. :)
