  • Also... yours and Mark's seemed more redish amber and mine is more yellow like a budweiser. Wtf? You think it's jut because I'm drinking this in 2011 and they changed stuff around?

  • @mesuhlikemusic My video turned out dark so it may come across darker, but definitely not yellow. Did it taste okay?

  • @BeerichiTuba Ya it tasted decent. :^/

    Normal IPA-ish.

  • @mesuhlikemusic Huh, weird. I don't know if you can check a bottling date for freshness if you were to try it next time. I don't think it's the best, but a good standard IPA from the Bay Area. I would give it another try if you want to.

  • Maybe i got a faulty bottle. Or something.. But there is a bunch of stuff floating in mine. I watched Mark's review of it and yours and none of you guys said anything about floaty stuff. Its like.... a lot too. And big chunks. Kinda concerns me. I like unfiltered beer and everything but this is too unfiltered i think.

  • @mesuhlikemusic Ya, I think you got a weird bottle then. It's not suppose to have anything in it. How did it taste?

  • My husband just recently got me into IPAs and we've been liking Sculpin by Ballast Point. Now I want to try Blind Pig. :)

  • @JoyMac13 Oh that's a great one. Definitely try the Blind Pig. For me my top favorite IPAs are the Blind Pig and Green Flash Brewing's West Coast IPA. It's awesome on tap.

  • I bought a six pack of these and took it to an uncle's party this past weekend. Ended up drinking one (I always buy beer when he hosts parties and end up leaving most of it in his fridge, as everybody else does). Not a bad IPA at all, but I found it a little underwhelming. I love their Hop Stoopid (especially the price!) and their A Little Sumpin' Wild. I don't regret buying this, but I ended up enjoying a Two Brother's Cane & Ebel bottle from last year I found in the fridge a lot more.

  • @BrokenGalaxy Ya, that makes sense. I remember my first time having it and especially on tap (probably still good I'm guessing). I actually just got their Little Sumpin' Wild and recorded it. Not bad, really sweet though. I never heard of the Two Brother's beer though. Where's that from?

  • @BeerichiTuba Two Brother's Brewing Co. is a craft brewery located in the west Chicago suburbs - about 15 miles from my house. As far as local breweries go, they're obviously not as big as Goose Island, but they are becoming more and more popular (Beer Advocate gives them an A rating).

  • The thing I like about this IPA is its cheap. I can get a six pack for 7.99 at many local liquor stores. Other great IPA's like Green Flash and Stone IPA, are at least 9.99. Another thing I like is since their regular IPA is at 5.7%, their double IPA's are 7.5 and 8. I hate how other breweries make their regular IPA at 7, making their double at least 9 or 10%. I personally think they loose flavor with all that bitterness. I would take a Hop Stoopid or Pliny over those 10% DIPAs any day.

  • @bubbajeans I definitely see what you mean, but I still like the ones that are 10% like Port Brewing's. Some of the top double IPAs are in the 8% range though.

  • Nice colour to this Beer, good review cheers!!

  • Regarding your "final thoughts," I've converted more girls to good beer by giving them nice hoppy IPAs than any combination of so-called "chick beer." A good finely-crafted product like Lagunitas IPA is the kind of thing that just about anybody with an open mind can get behind.

  • @TheEndosymbiosis Wow, that's awesome. I think that makes sense. It's definitely not a guy/girl thing, but a matter of finding the right kind of beer for each person, if they would like beer.

  • LOL! I can imagine the beer you had tasted good. Going a week without beer? I haven't done that for a long time now. Excellent review. - Have you ever tried DogZilla Black IPA? I bought it the other day and showed the pour to a friend on skype. For my taste buds, it turned out very nice. I was smooth and awesome.

  • Sounds like a good IPA, great review! I have heard good things about their beers, especially their Hop-Stoopid, but i don't get any beers from lagunitas. Did you ever find the Beer Here Dark Hops? Btw if you ever get the chance check out Beer Here Hopfix, it is my alltime favortie IPA. That might change though because a viewer is sending me Stone IPA, Alesmith IPA and Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA, looking forward to try them! Cheers!

  • Same here, I always see it but have never bought it. Homebrewing definitely helps out your ability to recognize aroma and taste.

  • @StumpyJoeJr Ya, I've noticed that. I hope to be making more beer soon. What are you making right now?

  • @BeerichiTuba I kegged my IPA last weekend. I need to film a bit more footage and then edit together everything I shot from kegging to tasting the finished beer.
