Beautiful. I heard this song when I was working at at my cashier job, and I started crying. I'm 17, and I DEFINATELY do not listen to these types of songs. But I cried!
What a beautiful song... It makes me wish I could hop back to 1960...even with all the world's troubles back then, it was musically and culturally a more innocent, beautiful time in my opinion. And while even though we can't go back, we can still cherish this music and the memories. Thanks so much for posting this, Felix! Greetings from London, Canada.
Great song from our very special time of life. Don't hear it much anymore but thanks to everyone on you tube, the memorable sounds are just a search away. Thank you so much for the memory.
I love this song.....First time I heard it was driving back from Chicago in the summer of 1960......this was three years before I released my first recording on Soma Records.
it was the summer of 59,we was parked in her driveway saying goodnight,I was ready to leave for the army in acouple days ,that song was playing I ask her to wait for me,she said thats my answer,,she didn't wait, it really hurt 50years later I still think about her
i understand.. an affair that ends up lost like that is something hard to forget and yes, it can be heartbreaking. Thank you for listening to the song .. just hoping it really didn't make you feel real real bad.
@sonny7815 Funny...in Oct. of 1960, also in the driveway, my steady of 2 years said the same thing as I was going into the Air Force. We pent at least 2 hours together that night vowing our love to each other. So many of these great songs brings back my memory of my first love lost. I
never got a return letter and that was that. Strange how the one you lost is the one you can't get out of your mind, even though I married a great girl and after 45 years God took her from me also. So lonely...
Listening to this song takes me back to 1959 when a girl I knew died too young at age 17. She was such a nice person and I will always remember her. Thanks for posting this song.
you're welcome.. am glad you appreciated it and took you back to a sad but wonderful friendship.. i had experienced it myself and it is indeed heartbreaking.
