Funny really how Bogle's name crops up every now and then I notice on Mary Black's latest album she does a fine version of "All the young men".
As a Dubliner I have no memory of him every playing here just like Harvey Andrews both of which I would have loved to have seen live but hope they enjoy their retirement and I'll content myself with albums and occasional video clips
Awesome video accompanying this superb song! I've been playing and replaying - Many thanks, bigmanio for this marvelous Eric Bogle song - and craigowler for the Methil Harbour on the Firth of Forth - was trying to figure out where - it's a Blessing of the Boats, right?
A very touching and beautiful song."Writing my tired old rhymes, trying to turn back time" and "I wish I could care again, reach out and share again".I feel like that too.xx

lovely song and a singer i really admire.
I often sing it when I've had a few.
I can never get my tongue around " the older I get it seems wishes takes the place of dreams" woud "replace my dreams" not be more suitable?
But who am I. Regards eric.

I wish I were young again, my song to be sung again... I wish I were home again.
If wishes were fishes I WOULD cast nets in the sea.
