US steals all its ideas from other countries these days anyway, so I don't know why their writers are winging so much. "Strike You!" is AWESOME! There are a few classic shorts out there, "Hardware Wars", The Magnetic Man-Eating Tape Blob, and Griffen Dunne's "Five Minutes for Fighting". "Strike You!" is an instant classic. "Matt" reminds me of the abused love child of "Bluto" Blutowski from "Animal House". Meredith Salenger is funnier and sexier than she has ever been. It's hard to believe you can cram that many "F-bombs" in a five minute short.

The strike isn't about them getting a bigger salary. Did you know they don't make a dim off internet downloads - they people either pay for or watch for free. THEY GET NOTHING.
Yes, writer's make a lot of money. But compared to studio execs they make peanuts.
It's estimated that studios made over a billion dollars las year in internet downloads. And the writers? Saw NOTHING of that money. For work that wouldn't exist without them.
If they wanted to make what studio execs make,should've applied to BE studio exec.if every worker in the U.S. went on strike because they don't make what the managers make? Does it make ANY SENSE AT ALL then?!
It's called ECONMICS, apparently, writers aren't required to take that course. If everyone got payed the same amount of money in a feild that that the "higher-ups" get, noone would be motivated to do better, just think of the trouble that would cause?
Apparently you've never met a writer. They are creative types, not business types. They are using their gifts to the best of their ability and if they tried to business execs, they would fail. And likely would not be qualified, just like execs are not qualified to to be writers, at least not good ones.
They're NOT asking to make what the studios execs make - They're simply asking to make SOMETHING decent from internet downloads. Right now they make something like .11 cents per 2 BILLION downloads or some ridiculous number like that.
Networks are profiting (thru ads) from our downloading shows. Do you really think it's nonsense for the writers/actors to want a % of that income when it's THEIR work that keep the viewing public coming back for MORE downloads?

The strike isn't about them getting a bigger salary. Did you know they don't make a dim off internet downloads - they people either pay for or watch for free. THEY GET NOTHING.
Yes, writer's make a lot of money. But compared to studio execs they make peanuts.
It's estimated that studios made over a billion dollars las year in internet downloads. And the writers? Saw NOTHING of that money. For work that wouldn't exist without them.
They are just asking for their fair share.

It's called ECONMICS, apparently, writers aren't required to take that course. If everyone got payed the same amount of money in a feild that that the "higher-ups" get, noone would be motivated to do better, just think of the trouble that would cause?

Apparently you've never met a writer. They are creative types, not business types. They are using their gifts to the best of their ability and if they tried to business execs, they would fail. And likely would not be qualified, just like execs are not qualified to to be writers, at least not good ones.

They're NOT asking to make what the studios execs make - They're simply asking to make SOMETHING decent from internet downloads. Right now they make something like .11 cents per 2 BILLION downloads or some ridiculous number like that.
Networks are profiting (thru ads) from our downloading shows. Do you really think it's nonsense for the writers/actors to want a % of that income when it's THEIR work that keep the viewing public coming back for MORE downloads?

This is a completely FALSE representation of how the professional actors in this business feel about the writer's strike and completely disrespectful of the MANY of us actors who have been walking the picket line alongside the writers for the last 4 days.
Everything the writers are doing right now is going to directly benefit the Screen Actor's Guild when our turn comes to negotiate in June.

dear justine (or whoever you actually are...) that is the beauty of this satire...since one of the main issues in the strike revolves around internet ad revenues - and the fact that traditional tv audiences are dispersed to so many other options now...like the user-generated content of YouTube.
so actually...the time you spent watching this on YouTube instead of watching tv just decreased tv ad revenues...which is kinda the studios point.
