@southm13 Sorry, but it's you who excell at not knowing what you're talking about. First, you certainly has no idea of what a "pipeline" is. Second, the vertex shaders on RSX are just as fast as any other shaders from back then. Also, simply having pixel and vertex shaders is a negative point, given unified shaders is a much more flexible system and was adpted by all GPU manufacturers today. Finally, NVIDIA makes the GPU only, not the processor (IBM) or the hard drive (Toshiba).

Like I tell all my friends unless a developer makes a game just for the PS3 it will run better on the 360. In fact like you say MOST games run at better fps on 360 than on PS3. Bring on the next gen! I'm a pc gamer and yes I have 2.6GB VRAM 5X the vram of either console. Only reason I own a 360 is gears of war. Everything else I run at better fps and higher graphics detail on my Nvidia SLI 480's and i5 2500k running at 4.5Ghz :)

I have a 360 and I tried the PS3 it was amazing, so there is no reason to fight over such things. PS3 is faster but the 360 has better graphics. With this, the console wars may end and sometimes the consoles speed match with the hardware. The only competitor out there for the consoles is the mighty PC's and that may be all.

I have a 360 and I tried the PS3 it was amazing, so there is no reason to fight over such things. PS3 is faster but the 360 has better graphics. With this, the console wars may end and sometimes the consoles speed match with the hardware. The only competitor out there for the consoles is the mighty PC's and that may be all.

It makes sense for PCs, where VRAM is much faster than system RAM (an average GDDR5 setup has about six times the bandwidth of an average DDR3 setup). On the console's case, the Xbox 360's shared RAM has a bandwidth of 22.4 GB/s. The PS3's "dedicated" VRAM has the exact same 22.4 GB/s bandwidth, while the system RAM can be shared at up to 20 GB/s only.
Despite being shared, the Xbox 360's VRAM is not slower than the PS3's.
