  • It gives me that Radiohead feeling where it's so good that it makes one physically ill.

  • Fabulous, bravo! This mans's playing really stirs my emotions. The feeling, dynamics, clarity, timing, tones, the way he plays it, just fabulous. Wow!

  • Anyone else notice a striking resemblance between Vieaux and actor Alan Tudyk?

  • That took my breath away. Amazing.

  • To add more to comment below. Jason's playing here is very moving. He plays it with passion. I would go see him play if he comes to the Bay Area. Look out for this guy, he's gooood!

  • O wow, I've watched a lot Leyenda's here, Segovia, J. Williams, more ... Jason V's is reallllly good! Nice tone, great dynamics, very enjoyable. What a find!

  • I think Jason is in a class by himself. And he is a wonderful person as well.

  • Jason.....you've made Asturias sounds so heavenly. I wish I have half of your abilities.Thank you and thank you again and again. Amjad Alrusan-JORDAN

  • FABULOUS!

  • wow man that just sounds like a machine gun!

  • Extraordinary! Bravo.

  • Bland playing. This piece requires strong accents on the beginning note of each group.

  • @poupee58 You are a very, very, sad middle-aged "Wish-I-Was", with nothing better to do than ejaculate jealousy.

Go away from here. In fact, judging by your Channel, go away from YT....you have absolutely no purpose in life but to be a cretin.

  • Greatt!!!

  • i think we are in post john william era, he is beyond that,he 's got an amazing touch.

    i like it.

  • one of the best interpretations of Leyenda!!!

  • This is Spanish piece and should sound with Spanish flavor. It is very easy to play on small body and scale guitar. If you are gifted with longer fingers then use bigger body and large scale guitar as an advantage.

The guitar sounding laud but without big sound. It sounding flamenco.

Anyway, good playing, but should be played on larger guitar body and correct pitch.

  • @SVAKOKO Have you ever seen a Herman Hauser? they don't have 'large body'.....

  • You can tell how good he is by the crowd's silence.

  • @MrZuQuitar I've seen him, and yes he leaves you speechless. JV is a giant of a player.

  • Amazing, amazing, amazing.

  • Genius! You don't see many performances where an even rythm is sustained through those strumming sections

  • HE IS THE BEST EVER .....NO COMPARE TO ANY ONE

He Do it with his powerful control over the guitars neck

    He is the best EVER

  • very nice !! i am very glad !

  • I also have met this man. He is down to earth as you say. He is absolutely the very best guitar player I have ever heard. He loves what he does and has earned respect because of his dedication and hard work, but he is also extremely gifted.

  • He's good.

  • One of the great guitarists of our time. Why does his video have so fewer views than other guitarists playing the same piece?

  • His talent can be compared to that of John Williams ,,, and so can the hairstyle !!

  • I love this song... but sometimes feel the middle section is a tad... boring? compared to the incredibly intense intro and outro.

  • @IcyScythe I feel that way too sometimes but without it, the song would kinda be just 1 long idea you know?

  • Well, the middle section is, in comparison....less aggressive, but....I feel it adds contrast.....room to breathe and to digest what was just offered to you in the introduction of this tune.... I think with age, we tend to understand certain aspects of music more, than when we're very young....this is very true even for myself.

  • @OuelletteGTR ya actually on repeated listenings it sounds better. I still kinda wish he'd written the whole thing presto though ;). (not with just that same melody over and over of course though)

  • facinante... increíble.... espectacular....

  • facinante... increíble.... espectacular....

  • Que pieza maestra!!! buenisimo!!

  • I believe that Jason Vieaux is one of the most under-rated players of our time. He has outstanding technique and a great feel for each of his pieces. I Think he should be appreciated more than he is at this moment. I think in some years to come, he will be more well known.

  • this reminds me of when Borges broke the time Capulet in the grand bay!

  • Yes, he is playing a Wagner now. But in this video, he plays on a Paul Fischer Taut Premier guitar.

  • @classical9034 It looks and sounds really much like a Gernot Wagner!

  • THIS SONG ROCKS!

  • If there is a ... i believe...

  • abrumador

  • Albeniz will be proud!

  • weird thing is he doesnt alternate his index and middle like most classical schools will say is correct. they say flamenco players are allowed to get away with it but not classical students.

  • almost like my teacher

  • excellent

  • perfecto

  • this is just wow.

  • I love his tone.

  • Excelent....

    Excelent.......

    Bravisimo

  • jason uses aww damn it i forgot what guitars he used, but not the ones k2rii mentioned

  • @jamzai

He uses Gernot Wagner Double Top Guitars

  • @jamzai He is playing a Montero from Granada, Spain.

  • i love him. i dont like his left hand. it works for him though. it wouldnt work for me

  • he's a virtuoso

he can compared himself with segovia or even williams

but the feeling that he has while he's playng nobody has it

  • @Satch6strings He can play this piece as good as Segovia does

  • @Satch6strings I just played a masterclass for this guy at AACC, he is amazingly down to earth and super nice. He even signed my music.

  • Hi, one question, who made your guitar? it is so similar to mine I think we got the same one, though not sure. Antonio Marin from Granada?

  • you're my idol

  • wonderfull performance.......you are amazing!!!!!

  • Very beautiful tonality

  • Like very much how he plays the middle part

    Very nice sound too

  • His Virtuosity sounds like the Playing of Andres Segovia and John Williams of this piece....This man is a Guitar Foundation of America Competion Winner and a WORLD CLASS Virtuouso... I have personally met his on one of his concert tours = IN LEVEL WITH THE GrandMasters of Guitar Gods.

  • Jason plays on a very refined level ,with great care for technical and musical details .The special thing with Jason

( for me ) is that it sounds natural .

I only hear music if you know what I mean .

The beauty of the sounds , the timing .

The music speaks for itself and yet his playing is very personal , playing the inside out .

  • He is very good playing.. Really virtuoso.. :)

  • terrible?

  • What are you talking about? If his technique was bad he propably wouldn't play this piece at all.

  • i think you're just retarded

  • Just because his technique is different doesn't mean it's bad. It get's the job done and that's all that matters.

  • Yeah, and most of all his technique isn't wrong. It's perfect.

  • wow just wow best i think i have seen !!!

  • Very consistent, speed sounds fine to me. Mutes are great. Maybe a bit loud in some aspects. But overall impressive.

  • This is the best performer of our generation

  • My favorite of all time! Composer - Isaac Albeniz, originally for piano. Transcribed by?

  • transcribed by Llobet(spelling?) i read somewhere

  • transcribed by Francisco Tárrega

  • by Tarrega

  • I'm sitting here playing along with the video

with tuner attached to my guitar.

His guitar is not tuned to exact(E) the whole thing is sharp.

Interesting. Is the video a little fast?

Jason is a fine player for sure!! The speed is a little fast for my taste but definately works

for show. (Pepe plays it at that tempo too)It keeps the lyricism of the bass voice scrambling though.

Nice work and great facility Jason!

    keep up the good work.

    James Hunley

  • Fantastic!

  • Jason, q te pario carajO!!!!!!!!!!!

sos una bestia, te amo (L xD

hiciste una interpretacion genial, la verdad una de las versiones que mas me llegó de Asturias.

    Felicidades! =D

  • Does anyone know wich chord is the 3rd one played quickly? Te first one is a B, the second one is one where you put your pink in the E string on the 12th fret, but the third doesn't seem the same in all the web videos and the tab i have. Honestly, its kind of hard to play the chord my tabs says (B plus pink on 12th fret E string) and the one here and in john williams looks lot more easy, something like gm but not sure...

  • If I understand, what you mean by saying B plus pink on 12th fret E string, correctly, then you are correct. That's the chord...

  • It's C7 (0-10-10-12-11-12), barre 10th fret. In another edtion it's also C7 (8-10-8-9-8-12) barre 7th fret.

  • Thanks man! Couldn't figure it out with the video

  • soi pa jalou drini, moi je jou le debut et ca ma pri 2 moi

  • A master is he.

  • sin palabras

  • de las mejores canciones clasicas oidas nunca

  • Too much for my heart.

  • Good enough player shame all guitarists play the same version.

  • I love this song.

  • i listened all your interpretation ; this piece is great, i enjoyed the performance, congrate patrick

  • Phenomenal!!!!

  • master hi is

  • Bof... J'ai déjà vu de meilleurs interprétations...

  • que dominio

  • wonderful ... but the best version is John williams's version

  • !!! his persuasion is outstanding

  • Simply wonderful. Thank you for this.

  • Outstanding! As close to a flawless performance as I've ever heard, and with passion.

  • I can only agree with you, the passion is even clearly visible

  • A good guitarist cannot be qualified by the way he or she holds the guitar. In the case of Vieaux, I cannot see or hear any problems caused by the way he holds his guitar.

Since Asturias is so very hard to be even played correctly and this version is almost spotless, I think Vieaux has done a fine job here. However, any interpretation of the original piece for piano is absent.

I.m.h.o. Vieaux has all the potential to become one of the great masters, but he still has a way to go.

  • I just saw him and it was a phenomenal show. Though he may still have some developing to do, and his playing is probably still evolving, he is luckily still very young. I agree that he is already, or is very close to becoming, one of the greats. We'll see what a long career ahead may bring.

  • my friend i should tell you that this is the way someone must hold a classical guitar!!!

  • Very traditional way of holding.

A bit different from Tarrega !

  • huh asi quisiera tocar yop :P

  • Who cares about the way he ( or anybody else) holds the guitar?

  • I like the way he sounds. Jason is a great player. I am not sure about the way he holds the guitar though.

  • Uh.. that's proper classical positioning of the guitar.

  • First off, it's personal for each person. It should be comfortable yet very stable.
