The description said it was for the promotion of the movie "Mallrats," which premiered in '95. So I'm assuming this was released the same year, if not, very close to it. So in all reality, "The Real World" is not part of "the new shit now," but rather, it's part of "THAT MTV" that you wish you could've seen.

This was probably MTV's last decent year. The thing that saved mtv during the early 90's was little bubble gum pop. There was ace of base, and that was about it. However as mentioned in this promo the spice girls came along, and the music industry realized it could make money on pre-fab crap again. So slowly they started flitering it in during 96 and 97, and then bam they hit the jackpot with Britney Spears.

Music hasn't recovered since, and a once great network is dead.

In '95 MTV was going downhill. They still played videos but it was nothing like the 80's. When you turned on the TV in the 80's it was either videos or a brief news update.
