gary05060 in responce to 72chevyc20cheyenne. the machine has planetary gears and a large ring gear around the outside which is timed to the planet gears. i have two of these machines that work and the power is supplied by an exercise bike that i adapted to run them. if you would like more info, please write me at ; 1 mountain ave Randolph Vermont 05060.
@gary05060 i would love to see how the planetary gears work, I understand how the spools are going around but how is the spools being dropped and picked up by the planetary gears ? is there a second set of gears turning at different intervals or is there some kind of levers that are pulling them off and pushing them on? i would be very interested in seeing the guts of the workings, could you post a video yourself?
Thanks so much for thinking about putting this video on here! I've been searching the internet for days trying to find something that explained the actual braiding pattern, but couldn't find any detailed information. Must be a guarded trade manufacturing secret or something! I was finally able to figure out the pattern and how the bobbins move and when from watching this video.
Now, if I could only find a video explaining how to build one!
@JustWonderingHowToDo If I owned the machine, I would have disassembled it to see how it works and to clean and lubricate it. The owner may have done that. I'll ask if I see him at the fair this September. Maybe he has some pictures.

You should have taken that machine apart, then we would know how it works. There's like zero information on the net about the subject.
