  • Something I learned from my Grandfather, who was reminiscing about the first car he ever saw. It belonged to his uncle, who was the richest man in town. I was shocked to learn that what he remembered most about it was "putting it up" for the winter. Cars weren't reliable in bad weather, less so in cold weather. So you drained the radiator fluid and gasoline, and put it up on blocks until it warmed up.

Horse & buggy were more reliable. At least until Ford came along.

  • @Xopheriahn that was an interesting story. Thanks for sharing it.

  • in soviet russia folding electric car drives u

  • The folding gimmick probably should've been done away with. That is insanely impractical.

  • @PAVONEZORZ maybe the reason is that the don't use the car that often and in folded state it allows them to more compactly store it in place in the city at lower cost and more conveniently?

  • wow look at that and woman today cant even figure out how to use the rear defroster.

  • Well, at least it's easy to use....

  • What are they dong out of the Kitchen?

  • cool love go 1920s women! lol

  • If we had electric cars back then...why the fuck are we STILL on oil???

  • @Cyfer135 it's complicated.

  • @Cyfer135 very complicated but the bottom line is if you can't make money you can't get investors and without investors you have no means to mass produce (and the oul companys are some of the largest investors in the automotive industry)

(proof of this is the fact that tesla had a concept to run the world entirely on wireless energy where the whole world could live off the grid by putting up an antena in thier yard or on their car but it never happened because there was no money in it)

  • @Cyfer135 the goverment fucked use over so we still have to buy there product cause they wouldnt make any money off of then . Sorry for my bad spelling

  • @Cyfer135 Because they didn't have George Bush back then.

  • @Cyfer135 Poitical reasons

  • @Cyfer135 Oil (gas) was extremely cheap, was more reliable than electric, and didn't have to be recharged. Now that the price of oil has gone up, car designers have had to relearn a lot about electric cars, and improve the design to make them more practical for modern use.

  • Would this car be street legal these days?

  • Hey look an Aptera... NOT

  • Still won't fit in my mailbox :(

  • Looks like fun

  • this video is really out of date lol

  • I wouldn't want to be riding in that car if it were hit by a Hummer, but I think that is less of a rebuke to the three-wheeler than to the multi-ton lummoxmobile.

  • I wouldn't want to be riding in that if it were hit by a bicycle.

  • Where's the 'Wide Load' sign?

  • nice

  • now we gone a full circle to the past. Its just like modern western civilization in the 19th century relearning the ancient roman/Greek civilizations

  • Everyone should watch the amazing documentary, "Who Killed the Electric Car?" (google/videos)

  • @9one9Music - I thought it was interesting that in the end they get the ex-CIA head as their advocate, I thought that was putting the fox in the chicken's pen if ever there was such an example.

  • awsome

  • funny to think that everyone in that film is most likely dead even the cameraman.

  • lol true

  • Reminds me how my father is fond of pointing at the screen when an old movie comes on and saying, "That's a dead dog", "That's a dead horse", &c.

And yes, most likely every person (and every car) in that film is long dead. And before that, those cuties in the film turned into shriveled up old ladies.

  • This should probably be the only car women should drive. I have been in three accidents, all of them were women's fault. One was trying to do her fucking nails and she ran a red light!

  • this will sell

  • i would feel safer on the road if women actually drove those, and had their own lane.

  • @aznrevlazn It would be safer if women would drive on their own planet.

  • This is amazing, makes you think why we are not driving electric/hydrogen powered cars now?!

I love the sound of a petroleum powered engine as much as the next guy, but electric cars should be the norm by now 2009 :/

  • If you like folding electric cars, che out the Wike aka "Wicycle". It's even smaller and lighter than this one. and in the video you can see it pulling a micro bicycle trailer as well.

  • they dont mak em' like they use to

  • You guys got some hilarious comments :)

  • TRANSFORMERS

  • @sharpezor that would be fun to see. the story could include some eccentric inventor that was making these transformers.. and how he had a secret project he was working on. And some transportation historian discovered some personal writings that the inventor had written of it. perhaps a kind of thinking robot transformer car buried deap within the caves of the US Air Forces warehouses of secret technology. And robot only needed one thing to come alive. And this Indiana Jones type historian...

  • whats upcycle?

  • what a death trap

  • I notice that the license plate of the second vehicle says "PM1931". I wonder if that may be indicating the year of manufacture.

I wonder if the first and second are the same vehicle or different vehicles. And if different vehicles, are they of the same manufacturer.

  • didnt the licence plate say fresh and have dice in the mirror???

  • Now thats what I call a compact car!
