  • Am I alone? Does anyone else think this sounds like it could be a bridal procession?

  • One of my favourite themes from BSG!

  • Fodder : Cant help it, to feel that there is a big cloud on the horizon

John : Nahhh Your worrying too much... No clouds on this Horizon, We got clear skies.

  • Man something must be wrong with me that I miss BSG like someone close to me has died!

    What a great show..

  • @mcjacobs2488 Same here. And IMHO, there's absolutely nothing wrong with us. Because Galactica is just THAT good. To me, it is also the only peace of television ever that has actually made me cry. Long live BSG.

  • @mcjacobs2488 nothing is wrong with you, or with me too... and many, many others. BSG ist heart-touching!

  • Great feel-good music. My wife calls it "The Adama-Has-A-Compassionate-Change-of-Heart-Music".

  • "At times it seems like everyone thinks that Starbuck would do better..."

    "I don't...."

"How can you be so sure?"

    "Because you're my son."

  • One of the best scenes and most underrated episodes in the entire series, unlike Lee I could never pull a weapon against a father like that....

  • 120, make that 121! and zero... Gotta Love it!!! That should make Bear one happy chap :-)

  • A ship is only as good as her commander and crew.

Galactica: The best ship in the fleet

  • I LOVE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!!!!!

  • @WalkerSistersStudios Me to :D

  • "seems some times the whole ship feels like starbuck would do better"

    "i don't"

    "why not?"

    "cause you're my son"

  • What episode was this from?

  • @acolytetojippity "The Hand of God"

  • My dad and I had to watch this in separate rooms so we didn't feel silly crying at this scene.

  • don't cry...don't cry...*tear* BWAAAAAAAA

  • To galatica, best ship in the fleet.

  • @zeratul1356 "To the men and women of Galactica, the best ship in the fleet" I loved that toast

  • @sirtimofthestrat "To absent friends"

  • This theme is by far one of the best of the series. So much emotion and heart in this simple tune...

  • This song, and the scene it's in, makes me cry every time I hear it. It shows how much has changed between Apollo and the Admiral. I love this song

  • i think THATS the adama theme...

  • As it's called "A Good Lighter", I intend to have this playing at my funeral when I'm going down to the furnace.:)

  • @sonofcy I'm gonna have "highway to hell" when i'm going down to the furnace.

  • @pithie84 you sir are a good for thinking that surgestion

  • One of the best and most uplifting scenes from the entire series.

  • @Kurian02 totally agree

  • Can someone here tell me teh name of the newest episodes whit teh first cylone war? It was about Raptor Talon or something like that

  • @Arky196 Razor

  • @Arky196 Well, 'Razor Flashbacks'.

  • This would make a processional hymn for a wedding.

  • So say we all.

  • For some reason, I feel like saluting to this.

  • BSG Role-playing game for xbox 360!!!!!! thats what we need, so say we all!!!!

  • execellent song I love the show and Bear McCreary music. Now I hope they make an RPG for xbox 360 now that will be awsome

  • It's amazing that I heard this song earlier tonight in a documentary on the bbc with some other bsg music. I never knew it had that much of an effect.

  • @islanumblar

Lol same here switched over to some programme about the Royals and had to get online for a listen of this again.

    Bears music is everywhere :)

  • @islanumblar Which Documentary was it?

  • @islanumblar

Yeah which documentary? And what other BSG music was there?

  • @Sleeper919 I never caught the name of it unfortunately and the roslin/adama theme, colonial anthem and one year later where also used lol

  • agreed, lee and the admiral on the hangar deck before the strike, was a great scene, the lighter, nice touch.

    best series ever!

  • Ok, this is officially one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard.

  • "Everyone in the fleet thinks that Starbuck would be better up to the task"

    "I don't."

"How can you be so sure."

    "Because you're my son."

The best scene on the best sci-fi show of the 00s.

  • Best Sci-fi show ever

  • @mccabber24 Indeed.

  • Haha love it great scene when Bill and Lee are sitting talking in the hanger deck on Galactica and he gives his son his father's (Joseph Adama's) lighter "He always took it with him when he went in to court and always won" "Dad I'll bring it back." "You better or I'll kick your ass! It's a good lighter." Ity's like the passing of the tourch from one generation to the next love it.

  • made a 1000 times better because of the bag pipes

  • Of course, everythings better with bagpipes.

  • I think of hope when I listen to this song. The situation isn't totally good yet. but there is "light at the end of the tunnel"

  • i love this tune! even the times it was used in wander my friends and in the caprica pilot episode!

  • Its so hard to listen to this and not say that Battlestar Galactica is the best show ever

  • I find it hard to watch any other T.V but repeats of Battlestar Galactica and The Sopranos now.

  • The early episodes of House aren't bad(before season six).

And there is old Firefly reruns.

And this just me, but Star Trek, Next Generation or Enterprise are also awesome.

  • That's not just you.

    ...

    Well. Enterprise is just you.

    :P

  • "Bring that lighter back... or I'll kick your ass."

    *tears*

  • its a good lighter

  • This music is fucking beautiful

    Long live Galactica

  • It is a verry good and most heared song in BSG,first used when they attacked the asteroid.

    So say we all.

  • I happened to love the New Caprica arc. I thought it was excellent. There was a belief that somehow the Colonials were playing the role of the Iraqi insurgency and the Cylons were playing the role of the US. However, given the highly Westernized society the Colonials come from and the intent of their insurgency(that of liberation, democracy, freedom, etc.),they were more along the lines of the French Resistance in WW2 than they were the Terrorist scum in Iraq.

    Inter arma enim silent leges,

    ATMD

  • interesting... I certainly didn't make that connection, but I tend to make connections with what is most immediate.

    Thanks for the thoughtful response!

  • No problem. A lot of people thought that the writers were trying to say that the Colonials were allegorical to the Iraqi insurgency. There were certainly attempts to make New Caprica a parallel to Iraq, however, given what the Colonials were fighting for and what the Iraqi Insurgency was fighting for their only similarity was that they wanted the foreign force gone. Other than that, their goals and intentions differed greatly.

    Inter arma enim silent leges,

    ATMD

  • The irony being that many insurgents in Iraq are foreign themselves. There's also the fact that the Colonials were truly faced with death during the occupation, and that New Caprica was basically a concentration camp by the start of season 3.

  • "Inter arma enim silent leges," is, to those who love democracy and freedom, one of the most repugnant phrases written.

  • I love the republic, but Cicero's declaration is a necessary truism. Indeed, America's own history is replete with examples of Cicero being proven true. Whether it be John Adams' passing the Alien & Sedition Acts during the Quasi-War, Lincoln invoking the War Powers Act, declaring Martial Law, & suspending Habeas Corpus, Wilson w/ his Espionage Acts, FDR w/ internment of Japanese, creation of Census Bureau, et al. Yet, every time the rights the gov took away to survive the crisis were given back

  • Another example of one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter

  • You make a good point yet I can't help feeling that Iraq's militants see little difference between themselves and the French Resistance. That's one clear lesson that New Caprica teaches us - everything is a matter of perspective.

  • I love this song. It's one of the best of BSG.

  • "you better, or i'll kick your ass. it's a damn good lighter."

    -adama

  • @jakeisawesome91

    so say we all =)

  • one of the best emotional songs of battlestar, i love it

  • amazing! god!

  • I heard this song recently in a production of Shakespeare...right where the line says "if music be the food of love...play on"

  • Strange and inappropriate allusion there... but this should fix your thumbs down. You may spam yourself or remove the comment. Whichever you deem necessary.

  • I have no idea what you mean by that

  • I simply figured the allusion you made, (the reference to Shakespeare) was thought of as inappropriate, but seeing your thumbs down, decided it was probably not your intent to state the arbitrary. So I raised your thumb score, so to speak.

In other words, it's not really important, but this video and song are indeed good.

  • well the thumbs down was inadverdant...I just came across the song by happenstance and I thought it was good.

  • Then no harm was meant, and none done. ( ;

  • nearly made me cry....brilliant 5/5

  • @Dazzy160 Nearly? When I heard the version of this at the end of "Flight of the Pheonix," I wept. Just glad my girlfriend wasn't around...

  • @Dazzy160 and you're not the only one T_T

  • @Dazzy160 but it made me to cry...

  • Wonderful song, my fav of all the episodes.

  • SO SAY WE ALL

  • Greatest show of all time. It did for television what Star Wars did for film. Bear McCreary did for the television score what John Williams did for the Film Score. I will truly miss this show - particularly the battles. However, that being said, Caprica was frakking awesome & was just as compelling and complex as BSG. The only difference is they come from a Civvie side of things & focus more on scientific/business issues & less on military/political ones. Although they are still present.

  • Beautiful song I really love it and it's a good serie aswell

  • What's the difference between this tune and the "Admiral and Commander" tune from the season 3 soundtrack?

  • this tune and wander my friends is for season 1. reuniting the fleet is for season2. and admiral and commander is for season 3.

  • Then Grand Old Lady for Season 4. You can guess what scene this was played to (if you've watched it, I mean).

  • What a way this show has come sense

    1st season

  • This song just feels kinda sad...

  • Its more like you know that things are fucked up, but you feel good because theres not a damn thing that you can do about it.

  • Bittersweet. The word is bittersweet.

To me, it's a very... touching song. Like things lost, but things to come - bearing in mind I haven't watched BSG at all.

  • Oh, you should.... you should.

  • awesome tune, and best show ever

  • i love this song :)

and i dont watch BSG XDXD

  • Well, it is never too late to start. It is one of the most in depth and interesting stories you will ever see.

  • i'll take a look if i have the cance ;) thx
