My personal knowledge/ignorance of Sharia Law convince me that I am willing to reject if as incompatible with our Constitution. Clashes could have existed between an agricultural civilization and an industrial one. But since the West launched the industrial revolution, it set the standard for how society should be organized.
There are different cultures around the world that share the same values.

Switch to relatively oil-free economies, to reduce dependence on middle-east,

Leave the muslim world to it, and ensure the West does not become "islamized", by reducing or removing some of the fundamentalist elements e.g. faith schools, relocating people from very mono-cultural areas into racially mixed areas perhaps, and deporting scroungers / criminals / fanatics.

Of course, things like the Iranian nuclear program do play wild cards in such matters. Still, to stop an enemy from developing such weapons still would not require rebuilding their nation in some idealistic image as has been done in Iraq, and lesser so in Afghanistan.

That is to say that the predecessors of the mindset that I have adopted, fought against state religions, absolute monorchy, theocracies, religious intolerance, subjegation against will...and fought for constitutional governance, inalienable rights, a bill of secular laws and ammendability of those documents. I personally don't have to fight because of the work done before, but I am grateful and value and will protect those traditions.

If people try to know, to study the traditions, the way of life of people from other countries - we would understand that all we are the same - human beings!!! we have the same tears, the same smile, gladness, sorrow etc... If their was school well know for their quality education, is it fair to bring a student that doesn't abide the school rules, has a horrible record, and does poorly in class, to represent the whole school?
