@ensayofr But Hamilton finished ahead of Alonso in the standings due to count-back. So in reality, Hamilton beat Alonso that season. Not having a go at Alonso though, I think he's a class driver.

@ensayofr Apologies, being a Hamilton fan and reading a lot of these comments you can't help but get a bit defensive. Some people will use any excuse to make him look bad. Sometimes Lewis doesn't do himself any favours, but still, people need to except he's a great driver, along with Alonso, Vettel, Button etc. These guys don't win races because they have the best cars on the grid, they have the best cars on the grid because they win races.

@ididntididnt I have no idea where this myth that Hamilton somehow got preferential treatment (which I'm sure is what you're suggesting with "the team's darling") in 2007 came from. Do you honestly think McLaren and Ron Dennis would have gone to the effort of signing a 2 time world champion for a massive fee and not give him every chance of winning the championship. Alonso was being paid almost 10 times the amount that Lewis was whilst there. And I'm sorry he was out performed.

@han06040721 Actuallly they had the same amount of points, so he wasn't outperformed... Alonso got the same car as Hamilton, but it is possible that Lewis was preferred by the team in terms of psychological support... It's just a possibility, but still can be true... Anyhow both of them are good drivers and you can't tell who is better after one year (I mean 2007)...

@copperkipper1 Well Alonso finished with 109 so Hamilton did... I would not call Hamilton powning Alonso... Besides in the end of the season Alonso was driving agains his team... that's why they lost the championship. Goodjob McLaren. Good job Hamilton Fans.

Further the last year Alonso finished 2 fighting for the championship being in the 3th classified team in the championship. Hamilton could not do better... that is a fact!
