i wonder why those manufacturer needs to put a high sticky adhesives behind the lcd for n82 it sucks i broke mine upon i replace it! i try to be carefull but it doesnt help. does anyone had an idea why they need to put that kind of strong glue behind? they can put even just a little bit at the center as big as a piece of rice right? damn idea.
They use the glue as a seal against dirt and dust. It makes it difficult to remove the existing screen, but if you're careful (or happen to order a frame to go with the screen) you can put it together easily. You should make sure when you put it back together that you re-use the glue or use some sort of putty so dust doesn't get in.
Not sure - probably also very cheap. My potentially 'fake' screen has held up perfectly well and fit just fine, too. Since the fakes are made by molds from an original, I don't know that you'd be able to tell the difference anyway.
Actually, now that I think about, I wonder whether mine is real or fake.
All right, but the real problem is the warranty! As I know the warranty is no longer valid if I replace an old screen with a non-original screen. That's why I asked you.
what happened there? Did u change your keyboard as well? BTW, the process doesn't seem quite complete. Do you know which glue can be used to glue the new lcd on place? Also I think the screen cover is glued right? I just want to be sure there won't be dust.
I didn't change the keypad - I wanted to remember the crash by keeping the scratched up keys. A thin double-sided glue tape works best (not to be confused with double-sided scotch tape).
You're wise to worry about the dust. For total safety, using a thick gummy type of glue would be good. Something that can be removed later, such as a silicon sealant.
I don't know why but suddenly my screen has some black lines of (dead pixels) and I didn't even drop it. Strange! They started one day, increased the next day, and the third day I had 2 lines from side to side.
Anyway since I got it from "third party" importers if I take it there probably I'd just get the LCD exchanged at maybe some cost. And since I didn't like the way the guys work there I better do it myself carefully. :)
Use a thin plastic shim and squeeze it between the clear plastic screen cover and the outside plastic casing. Then pry the clear plastic screen loose.
Thanks man , i raplace my broken screen with this video +1

Does anyone know the average price for an original nokia n82 lcd screen?
I suppose on Ebay there are lots of fake lcd screens, isn't it?

do you need a phone lock code if you replace the lcd?
maxligema 2 years ago
No, you don't. I had to because I have a phone and SIM lock. A phone without any locks would have booted up as normal, without any code entry.

How do you pry it loose without denting the case?
