A "perfect" deity cannot have contradictory characteristics. If he's supposedly omniscient, he cannot be unaware of things. If he's supposedly omnipotent, there cannot be things he is unable to do. If he's supposedly just, he cannot behave in an unjust way. And yet, the Bible gives many examples of just such contradictions in Yahweh, therefore he cannot exist.

Of course it's possible that somewhere in the universe there's some god-like being(s), but not like any claimed so far.

In fact, Benedict's website is full of nonsense, such as him being an extremely busy filmmaker (IMDb has no record of him working on any film), etc.
Why would Benedict make up a story about surviving a NDE? Perhaps his two books on the subject (and tapes, and CDs, and videos, and appearances, and...) will give you a clue as to his motivation.

And even if he was "clinically dead" -- there are literally hundreds of people every day who reach the state of "clinical death", which is merely cardiac arrest and the cessation of breathing. These people "come back to life", thanks to CPR and other medical techniques. No "miracles" are required.
