Capitalism is essentially flawed because it doesn't account for human selfishness, people always want more. The malpractice in the financial sector always drags us back into recessions, then we come out of them and enjoy the benefits of capitalism until malpractice breaks it down again. Capitalism works half the time, so it's not completely broken but it's certainly not ideal.

Truly, collectivism only works within the family unit and not as an economic model for society.
