i am a huge psytrance fan and would like to start producing but i dont know where to start. i have a high end computer and powered moniters, a simple keyboard (keystation 49e to be exact lol) i have fl studio 8 and cubase. my question to you is where would you start? what is the most important equipment/software to start (im sure all that equipment you have is not absolutely necessary just to do what your doing) and how in the world did you afford all that anyway???
There is no set answer to this. Just follow your heart and do what you think sounds good. You can even make good music with cheap stuff, you just have to dig in and tweak to your liking. And of course the most important thing: you can have all the synths and stuff you want, if you're not musically creative than it's not gonna work.
the initial sequence is the paia modular. later i bring in the PEK but very subtly. the PEK is playing some higher sequences. i originally got the PEK to replace the PAIA which i was going to sell but decided i wanted to keep both. such is gear... you know.
but what happens when society runs out of oil and there is no more electricity, this kind of music just can't occur! I don't want to get attached to something like this and then have to have it disappear forever, but something like a trombone is powered only by human air and thus will live forever.
I'm in fear of the oil, economy, and martial law that has been declared here in the US. PLENTY of raw info on youtube. I LIVE for this stuff and my dreams of having my synth studio, collection and whatnot are beginning to vanish because of whats about to happen.
Jacob, PM me. I think your onto something here and I want to find out whats up.
I think the risks are overstated, right now we are getting close to bottom and there are tons of good buys in the market. Not auto though! Put all your money into something fairly blue chip right now like GE, shipping companies, etc. Averaging down might not be a bad idea either. But get in there quick and things will be ok, your dreams can still come true.
I think electricity is the last thing we need to worry about (40% of US electricity comes from coal... which is domestically sourced). Oil is used to make plastics (among other things). Electricity can come from a myriad of other sources. Plastics can't.
thats a good sound you got going on the minimoog - most of the youtube videos go for the growl dirt sounds - thanks for improving the selection - good tangerine dream sounding track too!
Very good Jam !! Very interesting random sequence resource at the final section. Congratulations ! The Electronic Music is still alive, despite the DJs attack.
Plexus, I think I have the same bug you do, my synths and gear has taken over as well, but hey! You gotta love it man, it's a world of our own, nice work, will look forward to more, thanks man, oh yeah, I have two more on thewir way gotr an extra rack :) Keep makin music man, CQQL!
That was excellent, dug the bass sequence and its transformations.

Do you have an alcove to recharge in like the BORG.

Do you have to be lowered in through the ceiling or do you have a hatch that opens up in the floor? ;)

Woah. EZ now. The trombone may live forever but you or I won't. We should enjoy and appreciate all forms of music while we can.
