@slickhutto Hahah, yeah I've been thinking about possibly buying one in a year or so, but Yak 55's are fairly cheap and have a quite good roll rate, I was thinking about that also. What are the Raven wings?
Dude... how old are you? I think I have shoes older than you! One heck of a pilot! I'm always impressed with young people with extraordinary talents. Keep posting videos my friend.
@HellaJDM The exterior shots from the wing and tail were home-made mounts, while the rest used the 3M double sided tape mounts with zip-ties for support.
Do you know of someone that has used the suction cup and has done aerobatics? I am waiting for my camera today or tomorrow and will try on my CAP 231 this weekend. I do not trust top much on the suction cup and 200 mph and 8 g's but if someone has done already.....
@slickhutto Mike Wiskus (Lucas Oil) showed me his two Go Pros that he uses on his Pitts. He mounts 2 on his plane via suction cups for his in-flight recording and said he has never had a problem. He demonstrated the strength of the suction cup my mounting it to a table and picking up the entire table with the camera.
What is the roll rate of this pitts?
AlexRobertson15 5 months ago
@AlexRobertson15 Way TOO slow! LOL. It's a little over 180 degrees/sec. When the new Raven wings are finished it will be upwards of 360.

@AlexRobertson15 Google Raven Aircraft and you should find the website for the wing kit. For some reason I can't post a link here.

@slickhutto are you planning on getting that kit for your pitts?
AlexRobertson15 5 months ago
@AlexRobertson15 I already have the kit. I've finished all of the ribs, and I'm starting work on the spars.

@slickhutto That is going to be quite the airplane

edouardtahiti 1 year ago
The factory says they testest up to 200 mph but has recommended to also put tape for more safety, i will not tested.
By the way, beatiful Pitts, also seen the project video, congrats.
I will see the way to fix it to the sight device also.

@pilotohog No I don't know anyone who has flown with the suction cup. I think it would be wise for you not to use it...

have you tried the suction cup mount with the gopro?
TheSchoegglnator 1 year ago
@TheSchoegglnator
Yes, but not on the Pitts. I don't think the suction cup would stay on throughout the flight.
slickhutto 1 year ago
@TheSchoegglnator how did u mount it then?
