Maciunas would be proud!! this is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. I love your work. Please message me... I would love to use this in my visuals and or do a remix as a homage. Regards Redstar309Z
I don't think your movie is helping though. You see, as good as it is, its nothing more than another spectacle. Which is precisely the reason that Debord didn't let his films get out during his lifetime. You can present a deconstruction with out the deconstruction of your presentation.
Good point - But the terrorism of the spectacle (i.e. the spectacle of terror) is so powerful that you can't counter-act without the use of a counter-acting spectacle. Weren't all the Situationist comic books also self-deconstructing counter-spectacles?
True. The spectacle can counter itself. The truth is...it's just plain good to get people thinking about the way they live and the way they experience the world. So, I may just be acting on the fact that I'm so over educated I've lost perspective. In any case, I like the way you think, and I like what you stand for. It's good to have a dialog. I didn't even know about the situationist comic books until you mentioned them. Thanks for being so rad.
I also disagree. We can do more than simply look at this text; we have opportunities for responses (well, short ones, at least).
Its an open question:
on one hand, the ways in which our [youtube] responses are formally coded represent the manner in which fragmented elements are continually recouperated into spectacle.
On the other hand
there is a real community of people with faith in the limits of deconstruction better termed as detournement, folks who get the joke.

@Acumensch how is this a self-deconstructing counter-spectacle?

Guy Debord would be proud.
If he hadn't drank himself to death first.
