I think he lived according to some sources. People keep cloning him and replacing more body parts with machine parts, and both Obi Wan and Anakin fight him again at some points. Not sure exactly which sources these are, though, or how seriously they're taken.

Proxy is still killed by Vader in the 360 version as well. You just don't get to fight him in the Wii and PS2 versions. Regardless, I think it's rather amusing as to who Proxy is when he does die.

Vader programmed him to attempt to kill you whenever it is tactically possible, likely to make you powerful. It's part of the reason why Starkiller is so strong; he had to become powerful just to survive.

I think Starkiller purposely didn't kill Proxy, just knocked him out. Growing up, Proxy was the closest thing to a friend he had.

Which is really really sad, considering Proxy is programmed to attempt to kill him whenever it is tactically viable.
