He gave his life for his country, whether you believe in the conflicts in Afghanistan/Iraq or not. I was born in Westwood, but never met him sadly. I grieve for thee and for the family of this brave man. May he be remembered for defending the peace that we all sadly take for granted and not appreciate sincerely, may we embrace life and cherish the things we hold dear, and our freedom as well. I come from a Marine Corps family. My dad was a Marine, who lost his battle with cancer this past Christmas Day. My brother-in-laws are Marines and I can say that I am humbled to know that our freedom is paid out with a high price. As Jesus said in John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down ones life for his friends." Thank You to all those who have paid the ultimate price of freedom. I'll never forget any of the countless memories I have of you, or anything you taught me. I remember your spirit, and unique style. My favorite memory of you is in Indiana, teaching us boots how to clear rooms back in the day.
