  • you look like Kumar

  • Also Tuxguitar is a free tab editor that can play powertabs and guitar pro tabs

  • awesome WhiteRGShredder! lol

  • come as you are by Nirvana is also really good and is easy to remember

  • I would use Amazing slow down. It slows down the music without messing up the sound. Only downside is that it costs money.

  • sorry if this is a double post but it didn't work...

    _________

u can also dl amazing slow downer for free from rapidshare

    just google:

    amazing slow downer rapidshare

and click the one from mechodownload

it has a link to the rapidshare thing in a box under the product description

  • sorry that last one was for mac

    if u have windows, google:

Amazing Slow Downer 3.1.7 for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista

and click the first link (spiderzbb)

  • the windows one didn't work to well for me

try it anyway; make sure u do it in the order of enter serial THEN put the dll in

if u know how to use torrents, those work best and they have some for ASD

if u don't, either learn or browse rapidshare sites

message me if u can't find any downloads ill find one for you

  • My only criticism is that if your guitar has a floating bridge, you do need a tuner, as it goes out of tune as you tune. other than that, nice lesson :)

  • You always look baked lol

  • his body can't handle his awesomeness

  • You can torrent GuitarPro for free...

  • Hey I just installed BestPractice and I was wondering how you slow the track down b/c i can't find it :( Could someone please help me find it. I would greatly appreciate it!

  • Sure man, you might want to check with their support forum or something like that if you are having trouble with it.

  • Can you make backing tracks with BestPractice (cut out the vocals or guitars or etc)

  • Not that I know of. You might want to download it and try it or read the documentation to see what it can do besides slow down tracks.

  • i have guitar pro :]

  • I downloaded Tux Guitar, but as soon as I click anything, it just stops doing anything. No buttons work and I can't exit it. Only Minimize and Maximize work...

  • That sucks, you might want to check to see if they have a support forum or something.

  • Your face when ...And Justice For All starts is just hilarious!!! LOL

  • or just watch u playing the song :P thats how i did angels dont kill :P but i still play it way different than u did, or how it is in the tabs... i just cant figure the solo out

  • 2:23

  • download guitar pro :D

  • haha i cant believe they did burning bridges in B standard... they dont just play the low notes either.

I love jamming to iron maiden. cleaner distortion. USUALLY simple stuff. That stuff I can actually pick apart the harmonies with stereo hooked up. then look at tabs later and see the differences. usually just positions nah meen.

  • where are the tabs on your website?

  • Sure dude, there's a link in the video description.

  • how did you slow your music down

  • Software called BestPractice.

  • Great tips you have in here. I decided to watch this when I couldn't figure out some of the tabs in Resurrection, by Chimaira. All I know is my tab is wrong, but I'm having issues correcting it, haha.

The hard part about Chimaira is they use A LOT of palm muting, which, for me, is harder to tell which chord they're playing because it's muffled and such. What heavy breakdowns though...god I love it.

  • my best practice keeps defaulting to quick time player, which it won't open because BP isn't a movie file

Is there another application that will run BP?

PS. I have a mac, if that is the problem

  • This is atully very useful, nice1!

  • Yngwie Malmsteen is a twat. Awesome player, but he's a fucking twat. His music sucks donkey cock by the way.

  • Good advice.

    Haha pause at 8:15

  • i cant find best practice, do you have a link

  • Sure man, check out the link in the description of the video. That will take you to my website, where you will find a link to BestPractice.

  • why the fuck would u need to teach how to play songs, u practice it till u get it right and take all the right parts from tabs and mush em together, thats all. dont need a vid to understand that, if ppl cant figure that out on their own they need to killthemselves

  • Well there is a lot more to it than that. If you don't know what are correct parts of tabs, you won't be able to use the right parts and discard the incorrect parts. People asked me a lot of questions that I have answered in this video.

  • Hey dude first of all, please excuse my bad english :D I hope you understand.

Can you write the name of the software that you used on the video to slow down the track?

Thanks for your help, this is really useful!

  • The software is called Best Practice

  • cool. might help many beginners, you're very sympathic!

  • you should have mentioned fith fret tunned

    easy way to tune

  • This guide is so USEFUL!

You're saying that you're not a professional musician, but god damn, you're a pro at my eyes!

    Keep Rocking Vafa!

    You Rock, and always will!

    Peace & Take Care~

  • Good stuff man!

  • Hello man, nice lessons, so when is the next guitar cover due? looking forward to some new stuff :D what will it be? more CoB?

  • Thanks man. Yeah, the newer Children Of Bodom stuff takes a long time to learn. They have gotten so technical now.

  • yeah i know xD would to see them live just to see if they can play that insane stuff as they do in the studio, but iceland is to small for CoB to come.... :(

  • I agree with that.

If you look at Smile Pretty For The Devil, it's pretty freaking hard, also for Lobodomy.

    Keep it going Vafa!

    I support you =)

  • by the way its like tuning for CGCFAD or something, not the regular tuning

  • Sure dude, I am sure there is some software that you can use to tune your guitar but I don't know what it would be. You can just search around for it. As for drop C tuning, you might be better off just tuning to standard, and then getting to drop C on your own.

  • Hey man whats up,

Do you know if theres a website that like, plays notes for you so you can tune your guitar to it, cause my tuner broke a few days ago..

  • hey man haha im pretty stupid but on best practice for the harmonizing parts i cant get just one part how do u get it to do that=D

  • firstly how would post red sg shredders comment about best practice as spam??

alos good work thanks heaps! lol just before i watched this i was trying to learn from watching you play follow the reaper XD

    5/5 stars

  • Dude thx! good tips

  • the idea of recording myself and then criticsing myself is brilliant! i never would have thought about it

  • hey thanks A LOT! for the best practice recommendation....i downloaded and i love it, its simple to use and effective

  • Can someone please send me link for the best practice software because I just cant seem to find it just googling it?

  • Hey great lesson as always :P but i tryed BestPractice and it isn't really good for slowing songs it kinda sounds....glitchy...words are like h-h-e-e s-s-a-a-i-i-d-d you know and guitar sounds liek that also...:P anyway its wierd sound and i was wondering if there is a way to correct it...Thanks.

  • Thanks dude. Yeah, unfortunately that's just the way it will sound when you slow it down.

  • GOOD tips! All of them

  • i hav watched every one of your lessons so far and they r brilliant. keep it up, its been really useful.

  • a lot of the stuff you talk about in your videos are things i've been doing since i started playing lol. but i almost never learn any song slower cuz i just cant stand playing that slow XD the program BestPractice is something im definately gonna check out though! thanks for the tipsand keep on keepin on.

  • you haven't found a MAC version have you?

  • Right on man, thanks. I am assuming you are talking about BestPractice. Unfortunately it looks like they only have a Windows version available. However, the source is available, so if you are up to it you could theoretically compile your own version on a Mac system.

  • this is really great, it sums up pretty much everything i've learned about learning songs in the last year. like every single thing. i'm not being sarcastic, that's awesome. great job.

  • Excelent video man!

Though i didn't get the name of the software that slows down songs for you... Can you tell me? :>

  • Sure dude, it's called BestPractice. Thanks for the nice words.

  • great video. Man, you're a really great guitarist, and it's really great that you're doing something like this.

I always get that bad feeling about being criticized.

  • Thats awesome about best practice and how you can seperate harmonies. I had no idea, very helpful, thanks alot.

  • Really? Damn. All the tabs always mess up on some parts, and the grainy bootleg videos don't really zoom in on the guitarists enough to show the parts that're wrong! I know you'd save the day. Hehe. Nah, but all the stuff you do is great, keep it up!

  • Wait, I take it you're learning Dead Inside to post a video??? You should. :)

  • Heheh, well thanks dude. I already know that song but I probably won't do a video of it since I have a lot of other videos I have planned.

  • Superbowl this year son!

  • THANKS

  • Dead Inside! I'm surprised anyone knew that song, considering no one listens to the Johan-era Arch Enemy. Dude, once again, you rule. The tips you hand out are extremly useful.

  • thats cool dude, a few of that stuff I already know and do. But its cool cuz now I know i am on the right track. And I also learned a few tricks. Thanks man!

  • hey great lesson

btw I was wondering how much does the guitar pro coast?

  • Thanks man, I appreciate it. You should check out the GuitarPro website for pricing information.

  • thx

  • Thanks alot dude! There is this song i want to learn, but there are no tabs. And i just couldnt hear all by ear, but now i might be able to that thanks to you showing me that "Best Practice" program! Thanks!

  • nice lesson

    helped a lot

  • Thnks 4 the lesson man!!!

  • "dont use a tuner" <- im the only one i know that tunes by ear rather than relying on a tuner (and insisting its right when it sounds like shit :D)

    great lesson btw :)

  • no your not, And thats a little self confident

    .

  • oh you know all my mates then or something?

  • amazing!

  • Nice lesson SG. I been practicing my different "E" in different places on the guitar. It's pretty cool, it's like my favorite chord and can be played almost anywhere in any song and it sound decent.

  • Post video about sweep picking lesson i need it!!!Keep rock!

  • Thank you. Yes, a sweep arpeggio lesson is coming up, but it will be later because it's an advanced technique and we need to get through the basic and intermediate stuff first.

  • where can i download the "best practice" software? i cant seem to find it anywhere

  • nice job, i use Fight Fire with Fire as a reference for standard tuning

  • fight fire with fire is sharper than standard

  • Are you sure? Well in any case, you could use just about any song to tune to. I just used ...And Justice For All because there is an open chord ringing out for such a long time.

  • yea I'm pretty sure, just slightly though. so is creeping death haha

    awesome songs either way

  • Seems like you're having fun!

You always have that smile :D

  • Btw easier way is to open the song in audacity and split the stereo track and change both channels to mono.

  • Ahh yeah dude, I have heard of that software. That's another option.

  • that imagining yourself tip is IMPERATIVE!! awesome vid man!!! rock on!

  • Nothing I didn´t know already, but it´s always fun to just watch you talk, hehe.

  • Learning scales help alot in learning by ear.

  • nice lesson man! but where can i download best practice?

  • never mind i found the link on your website

  • I find that guitar pro is useful but I suggest those that use it to memorize the song instead of just playing along as the music strolls by. Great video,

    Regards!

  • Great lesson =]

  • another great lesson dude peace out;)

  • I luv your lessons:-)

    You're the best teacher ever!!

And it's true, it helps to imagine myself playing a difficult song because I understand better the structure of the whole song by doing that...

Playing with the backing track is also really helpful to get it right:-)

    5*

  • I think this is my downfall V, I take things too fast!! Hehe! Great lesson as per usual! Why not start teaching guitar for people in your area? Make some cash!

  • Thanks Timmy! Heheh, well dude the thing is I'm not sure if it would really be worth my time since I'm so busy with work, and I'll be going to school again soon. But I have considered it.

  • nice one! yes it was helpful :P realy nice one easy and usable advises:P cheers man

  • Guitar pro is free just get a crack or cracked version :P

  • Could you give me a link to the best practice thing? I looked for it, but I cant find it.

  • Sure man, check my website and you will find a link there.

  • Michael Angelo Batio says: "If you want to play it super fast, you got to able to play it slow."

Yeah i got his DVD, lol. Good lesson dude.

  • Awesome!

    And everything is so true!!

    Thanks Vafa!!

    You're the best!!!

    Peace!

    -Kira

  • Excellent video. One thing that I am having trouble with is getting a good ear for notes. Do you know of any websites/lessons that will thourougly explain how to pick out notes, etc?

  • Thanks man. I have some interval and scales lessons that might help. Otherwise, it's all just about listening and playing songs to train your ear.

  • fuckin awesome lesson man really helped me out with something i thought i was reasonably good at.

BTW where can i get best practise from?

i googled it and couldnt find it:S

    Thanks man

  • Thanks dude, well the thing is practice is spelled with a "c", that might be why you can't find it, heheh. Also, it's all one word, as in BestPractice. Otherwise, you could always check my website for a link.

  • Idk, I found this lesson very good man :)

Apart from some exceptions (like Open tunings, and another tuning that can work out also), you could always interpret the tuning of a song your willing to try out, even w/o a tab.

I...for example, if I were wanting to play a song I never heard of before, I listen for the lowest note played in that song, and I drop my low e string's tuning until it matches close enough to that note, and I check it out with a tuner for a possible tuning.

  • torrents for guitar pro man, shit works! good lesson though, i have a lot of problems with tabs, and this video actually helps

  • Thanks man. Good video!

  • critiquing is good unless all it is is samck talking, no?

  • Heheh well yeah dude, but on the internet you have to expect some smack talking. If you can't handle smack talking, you shouldn't be posting your videos on the internet, period!

  • great vid!!!!! ur awesome and i think u and your guitar talent are going to go far in life!!! =D

  • good vid! 5/5

  • loved it, man!
