All in moderation. To be frank, I bought into the drugs will ruin your life propaganda, but I drink occasionally, and I smoke every once in a while, but I'm still successful. I know plenty of other pre-med students who do the same and they're sucessful too. Just don't be stupid about it, and avoid the heavy drugs (crack/cocaine, heroine, meth) you'll be ok, just be smart about things. I've never tried LSD, seems like it would be pretty cool, but I'm afraid of having flash backs years later.

If you're looking to escape real-life, it sounds like you're suffering from depression more than anything. If you suffer from asperger's syndrome then taking chemicals with ingredients you know nothing about could be very damaging to you psychologically or emotionally. Happiness doesn't come in a pill.
