  • LOL when did a cooking show become the grounds for a religion debate?

  • Vampires must be absolutely delicious then :O

  • In fact, yes ... much of what we know in the USA as "greek food" was created within the Greek community in New York. Gyros, for example, were invented by Greeks in NYC (Deb Duchon mentions this in the Good Eats episode "My Big Fat Greek Sandwich").

Disclaimer: I am not Greek, but I sure do love Greek food.

  • At about 3:30, Alton looks one hat and cigar short of looking a bit like Hunter S. Thompson (with hair).

  • this guy is my idol

  • Typical racist filth on utube.

  • EVERYTHING WAS INVENTED THE GREEKS

  • @dethflip23 LOL no tho. Most of the stuff the greeks invented was actually just innovations of stuff they learned from the Egyptians.

  • The Turkish people are not Arab, they are Turkish, and as somebody who has actually been to Turkey all the girls in short skirts and the fact that people kept on feeding me liquor speaks to the fact that it is not a hot bed of Islamic extremism.

  • @lorezapocalypse : Turkey is a great country. I'm part Turkish, atleast if you climb high enough in my family tree, and just about everything about Turkish culture, food, architecture, history, women, mustaches, everything, is amazing.

  • @honeybadger81 Mustaches? Odd thing to include. ;D

  • @QueenBoadicea You'd think so, but some Turks even hold mustache competitions, so atleast they think mustaches are important :)

  • @honeybadger81 You put moustaches after women on your list so at least you've got your priorities straight. ;) Then again, you place women after food so now I wonder... o.O

  • @QueenBoadicea Well, I'm very happily married, and my wife isn't Turkish (not that I'm complaining!), so I have to be conscious about those priorities :) If, on the other hand, you want to talk about life itself, my wonderful wife is definitely the best and most important part of mine.

  • @artcancro That's absolute bullshit. The Islamic Caliphates of the middle ages invented Algebra, Trigonometry, Coffee (I'm talking about the drink itself of course), Distilled Alcohol (the word alcohol comes from the Arabic "al-ku-hul"), Inoculation, Tooth Paste, Even the first Medical Peer Review.

Go back to history class, you IGNORANT FUCK.

Oh, and BTW, i'm not an arab or a muslim at all. I'm a white guy.

  • @illman8876 You are 100% incorrect. The Islamic Caliphates invented a false god and a false prophet who supposedly encourage their followers to kill everyone else. All of the other things you mentioned were invented by the Greeks.

  • @artcancro Everything i said they invented is well documented as being invented by the Muslims. How could the greeks invent any of the things i stated when, for one, the greeks never had coffee beans, and second, they did not have the mathematical knowledge to even comprehend things like algebra, or trigonometry.

Distilled Alcohol and Inoculation were WAYYYY out of their technological Era.

YOU ARE AN IGNORANT PIECE OF SHIT. GO AHEAD, TRY AND PROVE ME WRONG.

  • @illman8876 Citation needed.

Check out the algebra time line on wikipedia. May be wikipedia, but the references are well documented. And the fact that you have to add an insult at the end of all your comments makes you even less of a valid source. Try being a little more mature when educating someone.

  • @PeachPoptart I usually am...but when dealing with ignorant idiots like artcancro i just call em like I see em. There's no reason to be nice to someone like that.

  • @illman8876 lotsa things have been invented by greeks, says so on the greek food episode of good eats :) can't lie on tv :P

  • like New York?

  • I thought alton was going to say "serrated bread knifes are the best thing since...well sliced bread"

  • anyone else notice the typo right after the veggie kabobs? it said vegetal XD you would think they would have caught that in editing

  • yeah thats veggies in spanish lol

  • Bu adamin amina koyim.

  • Those meat is real huge , we do it smaller.Actually we do it really different in Turkey, this recipe looks like kebap from another planet.Good eats

  • I was gonna say "isn't slices, woven on a skewer more common?"

  • But, hey? Who doesn't like eating giant hunks of meat? :D

    ... Besides vegetarians. >_>

  • feel offended
