Dreams, sometimes have to be delayed, but its your Self Sacrificing Devotion to your purpose in life and unwavering faith that will carry you through times of Difficulty! Keep your head up, Jonathan.
Ok i was supporting him till he called himself a Celeb first off you have to be GOOD or talented to be a Celeb *which he was not* and 2nd off what money does he have to help New Orleans? get out of here
Jonathan was a hell of a talent. Unfortunately, his body let him down. The guy could play 4 positions and guard 4 positions. I've never seen a guy score 20 points and his knees would swell up to basketball size. They would heel, he would come back and his knees would do it again. The doctors told him to retire because he would be in a wheelchair by 30.
I heard about him from the NBA Live game.. We both have the same surname - Bender, even I'm from Poland. I think he is great man.. I'm glad he has found his real life passion! Good luck Jonathan!
It's who you are as a person that really matters! Sad that athletes get judged by winning and when they get injured columnists got to trash them and the fans just forget about them. That shows right there who the real friends are. The people who really care will support you no matter what, not just brush you aside because you fall on hard times. It's good to see him making something constructive and useful of his life since he doesn't play ball anymore. Injuries are part of the sport (sigh).

OMG! i just randomly typed in jonathan bender (THATS MY NAME!!!) an all of the sudden i saw myself in the future with dyed skin but then i got hurt. that really is my full name. jonathan bender!!!!!!!!!!!
He was drafted by the pacers with 5th pick in the 99 draft. The pacers traded antonio davis for the pick. He was a 7 footer who could handle the ball, shoot 3's, post up, monster rebounder, and defender/shot blocker. Many thought he could become the next kg but it didn't work out mainly due to his bad knees. He showed flashes of potential greatness but simply couldn't stay on the court. He was a good guy and it was sad his career ended so soon.

Jonathan Bender cost the Indiana Pacers a championship in 2000. If they did not trade Antonio Davis to Toronto for this bust player, Pacers had a legit chance at winning the ring. He is not a celebrity, nobody cares about Bender anymore. Yes he can dunk and broke MJ's record in the McDonald's All-American game but wasn't meant for the NBA, even if his knees were fine. 2000 should've been the Pacer's year!
Im from toronto and I ws PISSED when he traded him on draft night, I knew t-mac wouldnt return and we needed a replacement. It turned out ot be good sine we got Antonio Davis in return, but I wish this guy would have staye healthy..
