  • how does it take for boar hair to break in?

  • @Air2dig24 several weeks at least. For it to get really soft may take several months.

  • How did you shave before learning to use the safety razor? I'm just curious. What caused you to begin wet-shaving?

  • @Devissee the whole story is on my blog at mantic59(dot)blogspot(dot)com. click on "1st Time Here?" then click on "Why did I get into traditional shaving"

  • @Devissee i used an electric razor for 30 years before I "saw the light." my wife took me to an Art of Shaving store and had them give me a straight razor shave and thats what got me interested.

  • Are you a barber? How many years have been acquainted with wet shaving? I appreciate your interest and considerable knowledge.

  • @Devissee nope, not a barber. Been shaving like this only since 2004.

  • Thank you for your informative videos!

  • Great videos, keep it up mantic59.

  • okay im sorry to be rude but i cant help it...for someone who seems to be very hygenic you really should pay attention to your teeth...they need some brushing and whiteing...

  • Yo, Mantic I just got a Jaguar 1071 brush and man is it huge! but after the first wetting the strong stink exuding from it is disgusting, I think it must be horse hair because it doesn't look like my other boar brush. very barn yardish if you know what I mean.

I saw your brush cleaning vids and is borax the strongest thing to use? Because right now it stinks so bad that I would have to hold my breath to use it! HELP!

  • @AASTRANGE try pet shampoo (yes, really!)

  • Hey Mantic, what in your opinion is the best cream/soap.

  • @AASTRANGE everyone has different favorites!

  • @xmen123321 you may be able to shave a single pass with a light sunburn but be very careful and mositurize like crazy.

  • Love the good ol' ending!

  • You're awesome Mantic. Keep up the good work

  • Hey mantic, do you ever grow a beard? :D

  • @wazrasta no, Mrs. Mantic59 would not like that. :)

  • @mantic59 ha ha ha yea that's the usual reason no wonder your a master of the shave! ;)

  • Great to see you back!!!! Oh god I missed you mantic!!! hahaha, my best regards to you man!!

  • Great Video as allways !

  • Lookin good indeed, glad to see you posting fresh videos :) I was wondering - I own a synthetic brush by L'Occitane and I'm afraid it's not the smoothest of shaves. With my skin being a bit on the sensitive side when I haven't had enough sleep, I find that I'm definitely in need of a new brush, even though the L'Occitane does perfect with longer beard. What I'd really like to know is whether all synthethics generally share the same qualities as the one I own, or should I just try another make?

  • @Me7roiD I have 3 synthetic brushes and they do behave differently. Actually the one I like best is a cheap (~$15) Omega Synthex!

  • @mantic59 Thanks for the feedback! I'll probably go ahead and buy a Muhle "hjm" synthetic to see how it does compared to the L'Occitane brush I'm currently using.

  • i love my badger but when i let my beard grow i use my magnificent boar

  • I have a few silver tips and other badgers. I LOVE my boars the most.

  • keep the good old black and white clips coming! :-)

  • Looking good my friend.

  • Good to see you back in action mantic!!! Hope your feeling better, and keep 'em coming!

  • The Semogue 1305 boar brush is a really good beginners(and pro's) brush. Great for face lathering soaps or creams.

    BTW

    Good video, again, mate.
