  • There was no need to have all that cartoon sex. What was the animator thinking.

  • Oh my gosh. This is amazing. Ahahahah!

  • They need to make an r lite cause most r movies now a days are too gentle to be r and same with pg-13 they seem like they should be g

  • @giuguletzu of course...here in argentina... no one cares if you are 18 or not... =/

  • im 18 since i have 12... anyone?

  • R.I.P Jack valenti

  • Wow how did such a fascist system get installed in such a free society. And why are they such nazis about sex but could care less about violence. It doesnt make sense b/c most people rarely if ever have to deal with violence, but sex is everywhere. Most everyone their whole lives are in or pursuing a romantic relationship. Barely anyone chooses not to have sex. Its natural, theres nothing natural about violence. I'm not saying there should be less violence I just fucking hate the MPAA

  • @mikedd56 Viva la résistance!

  • FUCK The MPAA !!!!

  • I saw my first movie R rated movie at 4 or 5... and I started torrenting a while ago...

MPAA is not doing a good job.

  • @iNvictaStudios I guess they're too ignorant to find out that some children tend to be wise beyond their years.

  • wait wait wait all you users start to argue how because of one sex scene or something like that they label movies R or NC-17. okay let me explain in the common sence of way. imagine youre still a kid and youre knowledge is still fidgity. now imagine youre parents saw a movie rated for you and let you see it. but theres a sex scene in it. youre parents are gonna have to explain ''alot of things to you that you probably dont need to know...

i am 12 and i can say that happened...

    sex PG= disturbing

  • @space13awesomer wow...r u looking 4 likes or have u seen the film? Ur 12...that's fine, but r u boy or girl? That question really matters to most parents. What kind of sex ed have u had? I'm guessing that quote came from your parents. I don't know u or ur childhood, but ur about 3 years from wanting to have sex with anything. This is the parentally incorrect response to ur post. Ur body will tell u when ur ready, society will tell when ur not. The choice is yours.

  • @amorgan01 wtf?dude like wtf ! i play ps3 and make fun out of people making my life pretty inoccent but by youre post i am really freaking confused dude. by 3 years time i want to do what? wtf dude? im telling a point to stupid movie critics and i am sure that you got my comment pretty wrong...

damn i should really stop writing comments...

  • @space13awesomer I guess I mistook ur maturity level. Ur comment seemed beyond ur age. Think about that the next time u post on a vid like this.

  • @space13awesomer Do u understand that ur comment can be seen by anybody on youtube? Ur only 12, but any person of any age around the world can see the comment and respond to it. Ur growing up in the digital age, you'd better get used to it. Stop posting on things u don't yet understand unless u want to get something like what i wrote. I'm 27 kid. I understood ur comment wrong and I apologize to you. Just understand what I told u please.

  • hilarious

  • okay, okay. i am 12 and i will admit that violent movies are bieng labled +13 and thats just abnormal but kids like that crap so i guess its alright figurativly speaking but if a movie has sex in it than either it should be cut or be labled +21. thats just my opinion

  • @space13awesomer But

    you're 12.

  • @TheToothHead and?

  • @TheToothHead and?

  • @space13awesomer I guess some people who slap ratings on various media material due to what content is present in them don't even know that some kids can easily be wise beyond their years.

  • LMFAO i think that the mpaa can go fuck them selves man i mean i know almost everyone has seen porn when there a teen i know i have and thats way more grapic then in a movie so wtf? and if we didn't shelter sex and make a big ass deal about it then no one would give two fucks about it! jeez

  • this is a great film, though very graphic. I just read an article on a sight called El Blacksheep. Anyone who has seen this film should enjoy that article. It is very worthwhile

  • LOL OUR TEACHER SHOWED US THIS TO THE CLASS. <3

  • Based on my experiences throughout my public education years, I tend to think that when students advance through their public education, they get forced to watch movies in class with a higher rating (but for educational purposes), so when you're almost done with elementary school, you get forced to watch a PG-rated film, when you're almost done with middle school, you get forced to watch a PG-13-rated film, and when you're almost done with high school, you get forced to watch an R-rated film.

  • nice movie

  • best think ever :D

  • Don't dare of renting this, just watch it on Netflix if you're bored and wanna watch censored porn.

  • This movie was total BS.

Half the "points" everyone made were biased ranting.

  • Comment removed

  • This entire documentary was pretty much BS. I'm not just trying to troll, but most of the points some people made were ridiculous.

  • in germany sex and bad language is no problem... american pie was rated for 6 year olds!

but our govnerment has a problem with violence, for instance RAMBO 4 was rated 18+ and was still shown in a cutted version (about 2 minutes)

on dvd release it was even worse, the movie was still rated 18+ and they cutted out another 6 minutes...

Thats why we Germans allway buy our dvd's in foreign countries like Austria or USA...

    Man fuck the censorship!

  • @eimsbuschler the MPAA is not a government agency. The censorship is voluntary and the MPAA is a privately-run organization. Whatever else one may think, this is censorship by the marketplace... maybe it was inspired as a way to prevent government censorship, but there's no reason to think government censorship could stand a constitutional challenge.

  • @OckhamDeRazor

well at least adults may buy uncut dvd's !

  • @eimsbuschler hmmm, so violence is frowned upon in germany now?

  • @Zameenee57

well we people still like violent movies/video games... but our government is pretty gay.. they censor a lot, thats why we import from the us and other countries

  • I watched this today for my film class, great documentary

  • @Xepher2010Returns I think I remember seeing that too in a Mass Communications course I took for the Fall 2009 semester at my community college because I remember seeing clips of films that showed us how they were like when the Hays Code dominated the film industry before it was abandoned in favor of the movie rating system in 1968.

  • @SonicFamilyGal Yeah that's what we learned in my film class too

  • @Xepher2010Returns Great to see that someone else had quite a similar experience. I'd personally believe it was quite fascinating to learn about how allowing and tolerating content has evolved over time due to changing values in American societies throughout the years (at least that's what I believe).

  • I love this movie

  • I did a video like this before were my mate got rejected due to hum not looking his age

  • Anyone else watch this in their Media Studies Lesson?

  • this is a good doc and it shows how the mppa are ass also and retards are running it i wish i was a rater for mppa i woulda been a good aone and smart one

  • OMG hahahahahahaha

    it's so funny

  • One of the rare pleasures of being a bum is to run into this kind of documentry. Now I have a list that I can download all month and get exactly what I want, what is inappropriate for the American People. Will the NWO are busy murdering brown people around the world,I'll be downloading what they refuse a human to watch, which if I'm correct, give me a chance to survive these right-wing, born-again, fascist, capitalist pigs, and finally get a chance to enjoy some of the years left of this planet.

  • Pedro Almodovar. hahaha that part always makes me laugh. I love his movies.

  • My teacher showed the full movie and got 10minutes in until he said "Ahahaa! What have I done! hahahhaa" laughing and stopped it.

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahaha AAAAAAAAAAAAWSOME XD

  • go to p3nnyf's Channel he has this movie

  • thats fucking hilarious.

Hahaha Is that F bomb okay?

    :)

  • you can find this movie on here (YouTube). just type the title then part 1 into the search and hyou can find it.

i personaly loved the move, it was really insightful!

  • other than missionairy??? WHY?

  • ahahah

the fish rogering the whale was classic

  • "shit" in a pg rated movie????? Since when? It's not true. "Shit" isn't allowed in pg rated movies. Nor is partial nudity like buttocks.

  • Beetlejuice is PG and it has the word 'fuck' in it. A Bridge Too Far is PG and has the word 'fuck' in it.

    Learn your shit.

  • well, in that case that's weird...

  • Not really. It's just one of the many MPAA inconsistencies that this film points out.

  • does it say it in the movie? Cause I haven't been able to see it yet (i mean "this film is not yet rated). I don't know where to find it. =(

  • No. I've just seen a LOT of movies. lol

If you wanna watch This Film Is Not Yet Rated (legally that is) I'd try a netflix like service or buying it on amazon. Of course there's always the not-so-legal way...

  • @Lostinpraslation Spongebob shows buttocks. And so do a few other movies, mostly cartoons though. So yeah they were maybe exaggerating that. who knows....

  • fantastic doc. thnx. kirby d.

  • Wouldn't Hollywood and the MPAA being in bed together be somewhat of a... what's the phrase.... CONFLICT OF INTEREST

  • This films had insightful interviews with John Waters, Matt Stone and others about what they had to go through to get their films passed. I also learned that there's a member of the Catholic clergy on the board of appeals! Seems kind of biased, doesn't it?

  • Unfortunately, you can't really win in these cases.

The MPAA came about as a necessary compromise.

When the MPAA began as the MPPDA, its purpose was of self-governance with a production code that outlined exactly what you could and could not do, which was far more restrictive than the current system today.

For instance, under the Hays code, the story of your movie can't have the bad guys win, EVER.

Replacement of the code with the ratings system allowed more freedom, though it's not perfect.

  • And the reason why the MPAA was created: to stave off GOVERNMENT CENSORSHIP, which would have happened as the Supreme Court in the early 20th Century didn't deem motion pictures as protected speech and, therefore, not covered under 1st Amendment protection. This was ruled because motion pictures were considered a business, not art.

But, regarding a member of the Catholic clergy being on the board of appeals, not surprising as the church had been involved with the MPAA since its early years.

  • Funny that their concern was censorship, yet what they do is censorship in its full form. The creepy thing is that independant film makers are for the most part raped when it comes to their ratings, yet if you are affiliated with a major company, they will give you notes on what you need to cut and what needs to change. For lack of a better phrase, the MPAA is completely fucked!

  • @toothfairytats

"Funny that their concern was censorship, yet what they do is censorship in its full form."

Less so than it was during the Hays period, at least. Films made during the time the Production Code was enforced were not rated. And, it would be the degree of censorship and who decided it; the film industry itself or the U.S. government.

  • @toothfairytats

Another concern is the fact that boardmembers of the MPAA may consist of people from major studios and the effort against independent productions may be due to Hollywood trying to quell outside competition.

Plus, the MPAA is also closely associated with NATO (National Association of Theater Owners).

This could have the workings of an anti-trust case if it can be proven with evidence.

  • What means aberrational behavior?

  • aberrational

adj. abnormal, irregular, straying from the norm

  • its like one of those 1950's sexual harassment videos!

  • Why the heck is it that the MPAA seems to pick and choose where they're gonna enforce their rules? Either enforce the freakin' things or let up on em. I mean, jeez, people actually think they can trust those jackasses?

  • Yep. Must see. You can find it on Google Video.

  • this is a great movie. watch it.

  • "...oral sex with females"

why is this NC-17? that's so biased.

and i don't see the big deal with language. thats the least severe of the three.

  • First of all, look who gives it the rating, dude. But secondly, look at the issues they're tackling. It's not gonna be the most kid friendly film of the year. Besides, do you think many people under 18 would watch this?

  • If they wanted to, the should be able to. Even if most of them wouldn't want to see it..

  • Well personally, I didn't see much above an R rating by MPAA standards (Especially Considering the treatment Watchmen got), but when you go after the MPAA, what exactly do you expect to happen?

  • I don't know what to expect. Supposedly it is just a select group of unknown people.

    And what happened with Watchmen.

  • Watchmen contained a lot of graphic content: The beheading of a pregnant woman via shotgun blast, a rape scene, a semi-graphic sex scene, several brutal killings, including the butchering of a little girl and the subsequent feeding of her body parts to dogs, people exploding and their intestines hanging from the ceiling and repetitive full frontal male nudity... and it only got an R rating, but I've seen movies with less than that get the ol' NC-17 slapped on them faster than you can blink.

  • It seems that Hollywood produced films are treated more leniently than independent films.

  • The only flaw I spotted was that they didn't seem to go much into the fact that there are other "reasons" that the MPAA has slapped movies with NC-17s, including gory violence. They mainly focused on sex and its associated social/moral phobias. All the same, I still love this movie. I'm really glad someone did it; it's a great "fuck you" to the elite.

  • In the intro they show a series of clips. What's the name of the film in the first clip?

  • her orgasm is too long i guss, lets place it in the nc 17

funny there is women and catholic and episcapelian priests in this organization we are forgetting to add a shiite/sunni clerics now

  • The MPAA really makes me angry, because they're a censorship organization in everything but the name. They don't censor your work, they make YOU censor your own work or else your movie will never get into theaters. Without their blessing, nothing gets done in the industry, which is the problem. You can't have free expression if you have a studio/big business favored censorship organization. They're not protecting the kids, they're protecting their money.

  • @Icix1 They do have good intentions though... So did the communists, and Nazi's as well. Nothing is 100% good or evil.

  • loved this documentary fuck cesorship! (I hoped that offended someone lol)

  • well said..well said

    *clapping*

  • if we have them already we might as well add a mullah of the middle east for our clothing. there should be nothing that can hinder our right to free speech

i think we should of given our constitution to the iraqis since we dont use it anymore

  • How did they manage to get rated!

  • Better than nononsense versions from decades earlier

  • this documentary is really really great , basic requirements IQ above 80.

  • i'll do it jus because its not allowed, don care if i like it or not

  • What means aberrational behavior?

  • ... like 1000 handicapped orphans decimated by a hail of gunfire!

  • great

  • Funny trailer...

It sounds like a George Carlin sketch.

  • there is indeed a problem when violence is romanticized and sex is taboo

  • I 100% agree with you there

  • @freakishhigh you know? in germany it everything different, there's sex romanticized and violence is taboo. for exemple eyes wide shut is rated: 16 - ncesored where you realy can see the people fucking without these figures blocking the sight.

  • @freakishhigh i meant UNcencored

  • my film foundation professor showed our class this movie yesterday. It was funny as hell! LOL! Definitely a must-see documentary.

  • This film was amazing. Hilarious! Tho the detective woman in it was the worst Private Investigator known to man, but her daughter was hot.

  • The American rating system is quite odd. Why not have a system like the British: U (Universal), PG (Parental Guidance), 12A (Children under 12 must be accompanied by adults), 15 (15 and over only) and 18 (18 and over only)?

  • australia has the same thing basically

    G (anyone can see it)

PG (anyone can see it. parents advised but not needed)

MA (People 15 and over unless with parental guidence)

MA 15+ (15 and over only)

R (people 18 and over only)

    :)

  • This movie and the movie FUCK are 2 of the best documentaries that I have seen about the movie industry and social standards.

  • do you know where I can see a trailer or something for FUCK ?

  • basically all u gotta do is type FUCK movie trailer in google and turn on the spam filtering in google preferences. That way u dont get all the porn website links but only the movie trailer links. FUCK's tagline is: the movie that dare not spell it's name! LOL.

  • Fuck was so-so... The only thing worth remembering about it is that they never really found out for sure what it meant but it might have came from an old english word meaning to stab something like a bail of hay

  • Yeah but as a documentary I found it just as good as This Film is Not Yet Rated. And the interviews with all the humorists who popularized the word fuck are the best part of the movie by far ---> so hilarious!

  • I watched the documentary on IFC. It was really good. This was my favorite part.

  • this was good.

  • ROFL More than two humans

  • I wonder if it will be nominated by the Acadmey for Best Documentary Film?

  • no it wont because its an NC-17 rated films and those movies dont get massive distributions in movie theaters except for art house. thus making the film will never able to be nominated, even though its awsome

  • You spidey sense failed you, good friend. I was making a joke.

    =)

  • oh. then it has failed me indeed since i could not for see that.... i must hone my senses better. lol

  • Well, Midnight Cowboy got the Academy Award for Best Picture, and IT was X Rated. WHo knows how those people think anyways, it's all political. I'd personally be more honored to get an award voted to me by the people, not some elitist group.

  • funny movie. best one i've seen in school actually xD

  • I love it! :)

  • cool good movie

  • this film is fantastic! The movie is so well put together.

Kirby Dick even hires a PI to figure out who the people on the MPAA are.

    Its awesome.

If you guys can, rent it from netflix like I did.

    Its awesome.

    -RG

  • k, why in the hell would someone fuck a robot? 0o

  • fetish?

  • yea, that's weird..lol. Wait..is the robot hot?

  • "filmakers are urged to CHOOSE their fuck carefully."

  • I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!

    must see the year!

  • art films make people feel funny

  • "A thousand handicapped orphans decimated by a hail of gunfire"

    Classic!

  • I agree...that was hilarious..

  • This is a movie trailer for a real movie. Can't wait to see it.

  • Funny and interesting video, but why is this featured on getsomefilm?? Was this something a friend of yours did?
