Excellent idea, from a no nonsense man who does not accept the status quo and the herd mentality, and asks the question, "why not?". This idea also stimulates the thought, why not give the device a pneumatic drive from the air hose typically available under the seat. In fact, why the heck have RV manufacturers not done this?

@commnter10 I didn't use this daily and I changed trucks every 3 weeks when I was a JBHT driver. So just getting warm water was good enough for me. I used this when I Acould not get to a TS or if the TS had no parking or when I got to the TS the showers were over booked. This was my plan B. It would not be too difficult to add air with the air hose on the trailer and a regulator. You have a minimal amount of H2O you don't want to blow through it too quickly. Pressure can blow your tank too.

@cdltpx After running the east coast 3 weeks back then you would nearly be out of hours you return home turn in your truck you go home and return to an totally dirrernt truck so I had to rainX my glass beginning each trip. Install CB load all gear and get paper work in order for trip. When I pretriped a truck trailer I had a supersoaker water gun brush and soap water and bucket to clean ALL lights and reflectors checked/adjusted every brake by hand pretrip took 30 min never had accident too.

Wish I could say I am but I think I may have to go on disability. Too many surgeries reduce my dependability. One part will start up get it under control then another part will start acting up. Companies will not put up with excuses they want 1,000% performance. I will still share any solutions I have with truckers/homeless people bc they really need any help possible. WOW! Thats pretty nifty! When I get to a spot where I wont be able to shower for two days I bought those sponge towelettes at walmart near the handicap area and they work good to tie you over. But, this is pretty cool also! Good job!!

Revise on the walmart buggy man. Wally world wants you to be avaliable to work at least one weekend day you can't work there Mon-Fri you must give a Sat or a Sun no exceptions. I told the manager If I wanted to work all the time I would go get a job that paid 2x wally. So I might go work for the school system. When you go to an employer expecting a regular work week they look at you as if you asked them for $100 an hour.

We usually get a free shower when we fuel but we don't always need a shower when we fuel and don't always stop where we fuel. A lot of times I rather stop outside some metropolitans due to the crime rate and other times you simply cant find a parking spot at the TS you need to. Some times the showers are just too rare and your wait is too long to justify getting a shower. We learn how to get what we need when we concentrate on the solution. This is a solution not the best but one of them.

Flying J use to allow you to get 2 showers with each fill up or one. One if you gave them only one awards card. But for teams they will credit a shower on another card so I made a card for my brother but he could never be a trucker all those DWI. So I would hand them 2 cards when I would fuel and back then never ran out of showers then I went to work 4 JBHT then all that stopped too many places were out of reach to shower on time so I devised this and was surprised the water stayed so warm.

My belief is use an 20/80 for problems/solutions=80% of your times investment. The ying and yang but unbalenced more in favor of the positive. They key point in this video was wear swimming trunks when you take your PTA shower. I used to use my side doors on the van opened in a V shape. Use clothespins to hang a towel for privacy. Change clothes or shower or pee. Only takes a couple of mins and the problem is solved.

I have been in line at truck stops and had to smell these really dirty people and they have options rather than be unhealthy like that. I have gone for days without showerering and hated it so I sough a solution it isn't the ritz but it beats smelling worse than a horse. With the economic event ongoing many will have to learn these skills due to a lack of money. They treat you as if it is illegal to be poor stay clean and you will have work to survive when you work you have a home &soem meds.

Finally some truck stops offer your first shower at no charge. Wear sunglasses and a hat. Beat them to the punch phrasing it "I've never showered here before how do I pay? By offering to pay you don't sound like you want something for free.

@bargeon Worse shower ever was in a town in the middle of Oregon I was in the shower that had just a wood stall around me the rest of the bathoom was open to public while in there some dude comes in and takes a dump. Then couple days later I find I got some jungle rot on my feet some fungus I got from that shower experience. I had a few thousand dollars in my clothes that I had no place to keep just lucky no one tried to take my clothes.

Some of the smaller Mom & Pop truck stops post a charge for a shower but if you ask for a shower at the same time you pay to fill up they don't charge. I leave $2 for the clean up employee.

A lot of time getting what you want is in the way you phrase the request. My suggestion is to start by saying " I need your approval...". You will be surprised (if you don't rush the person) how many times you'll get approval by empowering the person you talk to.

I found rooms at cheap motels for $20 a night. Also asked motel front desk attendants if they would consider an hourly rate and about 33% of them took a couple of bucks ($3) for use of a shower. Make it clear you will give the attendant cash and no receipt is required. Tell them you do this with the other front desk attendant.

Ohio turnpike. Free showers in the drivers area of the public rest stops. Just take your stuff and if a shower room is empty lock the door behind you.

I got laid over once and Pilot had a location on either side of the divided hiway. One day I showered in the location on one side of the highway then drove to the other side the next day. At least I wasn't spending $10 a day plus meals while I sat and made nothing and extinguished my free time at a truckstop. Ive even had one Pilot cashier waive the shower charge because I told her I was 1.2 gals short of the 50 gals.

Helpful hint. If you're short on receipts for 50 gal's see if anybody left a receipt hanging at the gas pumps. Grab it and its yours for purposes of showering. I love Pilot. A lot of times the cashier does not mark your receipt as used and you can reuse the receipt until it expires or a cashier marks it used.

Take this info with yourself and present info in a sheet saver to the shower cashier. Dont say anything. Let the cashier read it.99% of the time they will say OK and you get a nice hot (worth its wait in gold) shower.

Pilot's. Write a letter to them at the address shown in one of their take one brochure think its a Knoxville address. Tell them you purchase gas fuel not diesel at their locations and would like to get free showers. They will send a letter back requiring you to show 50 gals of their purchase receipts in the last 7 days. Put the letter from Pilot in a plastic sheet saver. Put a photocopy of your license and Company ID on the other side.

I have since modified this with a longer hose and used hose clamps to secure the hose better. Water bottle doesn't fit up right under the international truck sleeper box (it is not a condo like my jbhunt truck was) clearance is about a foot the bottle will fit on its side this means you will not carry a full bottle of water for fear of leakage. Bought a new bottle in Indiana cost $10 in the south the cost is $7/8 when I left I didn't have the time to buy one @ home.

Buy 50 gal of fuel @most truck stops you are usually granted a shower that can expire in 3 days if not used. Some companies mandate you fuel as much as you can @ their terminal and this places the driver with a deficit on showers or companies want you to shower only @ pilot sometimes where you deliver there is only competing truck stops this makes it to where you have to buy a shower. They use to allow you to keep showers on the card for a week or longer. Shower $6-10 if showers are avaliable .

good idea but if you hit the truck stop at about 2 or 3 am you shouldnt have a problem with an open shower, if by chance you are stranded for a few days then it would be a good to have, always free showers with fuel at truck stop. of course i drive at night so it isnt a problem with me.

I have bee where you could not get a shower at 0200 I perfer to drive at night but these new laws dick that up and the company seem to schedule everrthing to deliver arund 0700 I will be seeking a job later I have to show some longevity first. Isnt it stupid places give a rats ass how you look on DAC you can look great on paper but suck on pavement. Oh well they have theirs coming we are working on our 2nd million safe miles hope we make it.

Glad you think so I had left the jug in the sun don't do that unless you spray paint it with a sun block paint. My jug cracked on top but I had it in the sun for about 2 years. No biggie go get another. It has been a life saver when you ahve to get to the door on time and really need to freshen up.

That is what they call it in prison when an inmate takes an in cell shower. I haven't taken a temperature reading to get the specifics of the temp of this water but it is probably around 110. I don't thing the prisons bird bath allows temp control.

They do make a 12 pump by coleman but it realy isn't necessary. I bought the pump never used it. I have it JIC I get to a place where showering outside would be impossible was going to fit a makeshift curtian ect but no need I do it with a swimsuit. Thanks for watching.

When I started showering at Tstops 1997 it cost $5 or you had to purchase 50 Gal fuel you can't always get fuel when you need a shower so you have to buy one. Well they are now $10 in most places. I see some drivers brushing teeth and grooming in restroom 0700 rather than buy shower "Poor guys". Some times you have to stop closer to customer by law.You have options just be cool about it and clean up in descreet location in swim wear uncooth not illegal. More than 9 ways 2 skin a cat.

Over all maybe 10 times I have showered this way. I perfer a truckstop but if I must I will use this method.I Must have options.

I have used it at a customer but it was after hurricane Katrina cat 5. The guard said he had to do the same and understood. The guard was the only person that ever said anything.

I understand your concern with safety you have to use caution anytime you do anything on the road especially if you are a lady you should be allowed to carry a gun if you ask me.

I started showering this way when I was with JB Hunt when did a lot of wertern USA driving that was in 1998 ten years ago.I was out the industry from a tornado injury for a while so 5 years of that was spent in recovery so about 2 times a year on average not too often but when I need to shower I had that option. Used in extreme cases has been my experience some might not mind using this method more. I have found it useful to clean truck windows hands great for that use it all the time 4 hands.

This isn't as cool as a truck with a built in shower but I can use the $100k to build a house that can resist the assults from tornado,hurricane,gunfire,wild­fire,and rising energy cost the home will appreciate in value.

Trucking is a means to an end the end is owning that home. Too many newbies in transportation quit becasue of the hassle's this is how I deal with just one of those hassles it isn't glamourous it is survival something I have learned to do no matter who is laughing at me. TYVM.
