Live action dramatization is a highly unsuitable medium for a full length motion picture adaptation of this "Highly Storied Anime Franchise".
CGI would be much better, you know, in the same manner as FF7 Advent Children. Next time they do an adaptation they must follow the story as set by the Anime.

Dragonball Evolution did follow the storyline of Dragonball almost closely if you've ever read or watched the cartoons, so why didn't people like it? Huh? Not to bother anyone by my comments, but I am tired of constant negative comments by other people about this movie and there is a close friend of mine who sadly is in somewhat of the same category (he's not completely pessimistic though). Last, Justin Chatwin had his moments acting child-like as Goku, but didn't act that way all of time: fine.

Yeah, but come on, the movie was just fine. It's not the coolest super-hero movie ever or an A+, but the director did try to keep as many of the original elements as possible. He did change some things, BUT I care more about how the actors portrayed the characters, the basic good vs. evil premise, the cool uniforms, the martial arts, the energy attacks which I think personally rocked, and Master Roshi was the comic relief in place of Krillin. Now, I would like to see Krillin & Yamcha in #2.
James Wong tried to please Everyone or the all audiences by introducing them to Dragonball, not Z. And the changes fit that profile. They were almost minor and there were some twists and unexpected turns in the story that surprised me which was interesting. Hey, I saw the movie in the theater 2 times and bought it recently to stand up for it because I'm similar to a 12 yr. old. even though I'm 26. Justin Chatwin and the other actors looked like their characters except for Chow Yun Fat.

Joon Park looked somewhat like Yamcha, but compared to that really pin-pointed his personality. Jamie Chung was hot as Chi-Chi and brought out her personality in a good way, Emmy Rossum looked similar to Bulma as well as acted just like her character, and Eriko Tamura was cute as Mai and looked like her (just needed to talk some).
Super-Hero movies shouldn't be made anymore, because many of the so-called "fans" are annoying; they complain and nitpick about pitly-andly elements that don't mean squat. To me the costumes for DB: E were sweet, Justin's hair was just fine by me, Bulma only having a couple of blue streaks was perfect (completely blue would look silly), Chow-Yun Fat pulled off Master Roshi's personality perfectly as did Joon Park as Yamcha. James Marsters as Piccolo was definitely ideal, & the antennae gone too.
I SUPPORT DRAGONBALL: EVOLUTION and I do respect other people who don't like this movie, but your not a TRUE DRAGONBALL/ Z/ GT FAN not like me, if you don't like this movie. One other thing: the surprising twist at the end of the movie showing Goku realizing that he has to use the power of the Oozaru to power-up his Kamehameha is VERY INTERESTING INDEED; IT TRULY SETS IT UP FOR GT. And Goku and Chi-Chi in school was cool, it's like Teenage Gohan, and I go to college, so it's perfect. Romance too
Justin Chatwin doesn't need to be asian and there doesn't need to be an asian actor to play Goku because I am a natural-born talented, detail oriented fine artist and I say that Justin looks exactly like Goku when it comes to facial features. I loved the air-bending special effects of the energy attacks and the Oozaru Goku transformed into was amazing. The Oozaru's size worked for the movie, he just needed to shoot out fire-blasts from his mouth. Last, I loved Superman Returns & Hulk: perfect!!!
The cast looked like the characters, Krillin and Tien are awesome characters but it was fine for them not to be in this movie, but I will be looking forward to seeing them and more characters in the next movie. Many people in the United States aren't appreciative of really good comicbook movies, they are too demanding of perfection (so they become pessimistic), they compare one story & special effects in a super-hero movie to another which I'm sick of, & they argue/bicker too much period.
In fact, I REALLY hope that the director of DB:E directs the movie/the writer of the movie adds all of the characters, follows closely to the Dragonball Z storyline, & adds the super-extreme fast martial fighting flying in the air, energy attacks, explosions. It should not be released in America because the country's greatness & ethical morals are going to hell in a hand basket which is the real truth. I am proud of this country, but I'm not racist, I am open-minded & respectful of the DB movie

When comparing two shot, you'll need to compare them at exact same angle. Chatwin's face is longer, so if you look down at him his face then appear to be shorter. That's why those two picture looks similar. The only similarity is the nose.

Many people in the United States aren't appreciative of really good comicbook movies, they are too demanding of perfection (so they become pessimistic), they compare one story & special effects in a super-hero movie to another which I'm sick of, & they argue/bicker too much period.

In fact, I REALLY hope that the director of DB:E directs the movie/the writer of the movie adds all of the characters, follows closely to the Dragonball Z storyline, & adds the super-extreme fast martial fighting flying in the air, energy attacks, explosions. It should not be released in America because the country's greatness & ethical morals are going to hell in a hand basket which is the real truth. I am proud of this country, but I'm not racist, I am open-minded & respectful of the DB movie

The only time I've seen him tan was in that picture you showed us and a few drawings of him. I loved the Dragonball: Evolution movie, I know that the director is going to make a sequel, I will see it, & I hope that it isn't released in the U.S (many are closed-minded)

True story: When Uub (Who is now 1/3 of my most fav DBZ characters) waz first introduces, I, didn't even notice his skin color waz different, untill my friend pointed it out!
I never really cared about the nationalities of any of the DBZ characters. I mean seriously, as long as he kick some major ass, who should give a crap what Goku is, am I right?

people really ignore the fact the even though Goku is an alien he looks alot like his wife Chi Chi(Who is in fact Asian). He looks like a boy version of her and well it shows how asian he looks.
Also some characters in the story think Goku and Krillin (Chinese Shaolin Monk) are brothers.
Also Yamacha and Goku look very similar in the anime and we all know yamacha is asian in the movie LOL. Most important fact all these characters dress in Asian clothing most of the time.

When comparing two shot, you'll need to compare them at exact same angle. Chatwin's face is longer, so if you look down at him his face then appear to be shorter. That's why those two picture looks similar. The only similarity is the nose.

Krillin, may not have been the strongest or most influential character in parts of the series but he did have his roles to play.
