@paxottomania The Sephardim were the best amorer of their time and brought all their knowledges to the Ottoman Empire. Thats the reason why they became so strong. Catholic Kings of Spain were not smart enough to understand that. They even did not allow to use the mathematic knowleges developed by moslemic scientists. @Miguel53de Are you sure it is almost 500 years old? I'm not saying it isn't but take in consideration many times we confuse things being in Ladino with necessarily being from the time period the Jews were kicked out of Spain, which is not necessarily so since Ladino has been being spoken ever since and there have been new songs written for the past 500 years outside of Spain too. Thanks!

But as much as I know - that does not automaticly mean I am absolutly right - Adio querida is one of the real old once. I know the song from different singers, not at least two Greek singers and they both told me the song is a real old one. In some concerts with Sefardim songs I got the same information. And the lyrics are pure Spanish. Newer songs are often mixed with Turkish.
