Many conductors happen to be female. Lots of references to "he."

It's rather cumbersome to always say, he/she or she/he and I'm not used to referring to conductors as 'it' although it fits in some cases.

Imagine being the conductor of the Prokofiev symphony and having to train your eye to look all over the page for a particular instrument line, which could be anywhere depending on which instruments were playing at the time!

You've just given me an idea. I'm going to do a video showing a score all marked up by a conductor to show how he finds all that stuff.
