that was great! life doesn't change a bit on the southside. every story or poem i read is similar and reminds me of growing up in englewood, washington park, woodlawn, and hyde park in the 80's and 90's.

I used to have friends I'd visit in Hyde Park

when I attended Roosevelt University.

I lived around 18th and Halsted and 24th and

Troy and 63rd and Kedzie.

I thank you for the complement. I feel and think

like I did at 20 yrs old, except when one of my

many physical ailments starts acting up, then I

start laughing at myself.

When I was in my 20's I was enthralled with old

people because I thought they must have all

this wisdom and probably had done and thought

all my deeds and thoughts many times over.

The more I think I know the less I really understand. I stand in awe and more and more

laugh at myself and my plight--a plight of

delight
