For the first 3 championships who did he have besides Pippen? Did Jordan ever play with a dominant big man? NO. Kobe had Shaq, one of the most dominant players in the history of the game. Historically, championship winning teams have had a dominant big man. The Bulls were an exception in that Jordan was as effective as a centre in the post.

He was the only allstar in the Bulls and carried the team on his back. Pippen wasn't mentally strong enough when he first came to the Bulls (go and see how he got bullied by the Pistons in the 1990 Eastern conference finals), Jordan had to push him in training till he eventually started to play at the required level.

Kobe Bryant, on the other hand, has stuck with the Lakers throughout his entire career and will finish it where he started it.

Jordan's two retirements prevented him from shattering even more records. It wasn't about that. He just needed a challenge. After the 1993 season his father was murdered. He left the game while he was still in his prime. When he came back, he continued to expand his game and DOMINATE. Then after 2nd retirement he came back for the love of the game.

I'd say it is more comparable to the reverse layup that Jordan made earlier in his career against the Atlanta Hawks, where he split two defenders while in mid air and made a reverse layup. I'm sure you know the one I am talking about as it is in almost every Jordan highlight reel.

@CEO1451 Michael Jordan won 6 rings after only 13 of his 15 years. Kobe won't do it in 2 years, he is averaging about 2000 Pts a year the last couple of seasons, he is at 27868 while MJ is at 32292. That would mean he would have to keep that average for 3 more years assuming he can even keep playing at that level(he'll be 33 next season). And he did start every game on his 3rd season so that would be 5 on 13 if we take your way but still, played more seasons than MJ. It depends on his health too

He has played the same number of seasons as MJ with this year and he does not match MJs numbers. To match MJs scoring points he needs to play at least 3 or 4 more seasons and stay injury free.
