  • Call it what you want. The mayor's ride was the main event. The flash mob joined at the end. We filmed the whole thing and put it together as a video collage. Orlando has been doing a lot to improve things for bikes and pedestrians and some of the local bike/ped advocates were looking for a fun way to say thanks. The mayor neither endorsed, nor participated in either the flash mob, or the video. Hope you enjoyed it anyway.

  • @bradkuhnewrites - p.s.: this was an all-volunteer effort. No one was paid a dime. The whole thing - from event to posting - happened in 10 hours. Kudos to the incomparable Mike Speltz at Appleton Creative.

  • @mang0mang0mang0 Why the hostility? A bunch of us wanted to pack downtown Orlando with bikes. We used the mayor's annual ride to work day to jump in from the sides at the end and film it from above. We also filmed a few of our crew on their way to the meetup point and placed a few helmet cams in the crowd. When the mayor's group got to our location, we hit the air horn and swarmed in from the sides. Why do you care?

  • this is not a flash mob.

  • Thanks to Downtown Orlando, City of Orlando, Cycling Savvy, and Appleton Creative for helping to make this a reality. - Brad
