I live in Florida. Went to the keys last week. There are better places to visit or to live in Florida than the keys. Everything is expensive and small. If you want to meet people under the age of 60 you have to drive 2 hours or more on the keys, unless you're already in Key largo or Key West. Key Largo is about an hour and a half from Miami. If you wanted to live on one of the keys you would not like it after a while. There really isn't much to do unless you have a boat.
i would not want to be on those bridges while a hurricane/cyclone or any of the sort is approaching. >_> that would be my only hesitation in driving through it..
@Mijyns At least you have warnings when those types of storms are coming, If you don't listen it would be your problem. I know from life experience. There very safe.

the best bang for the buck has to be the keys . I have vacationed there 5 times and except for some rainy days its been great a little sad as key west torism from cruse shps is off dramaticly but try the keys before you blow big bucks
