Have you even looked at the materials each one uses? Your statement makes absolutely no sense. The Zune has an aluminum back while the iPod has a stainless steel back which is more prone to scratching.

The Zune 120 gb was my first player and I was not satisfied. I followed the hype about it's amazing sound quality but straight from the box it sounded bad. Songs were either sub-par or terrible. I was using my Sennheiser HD 202 headphones. It doesn't have EQ settings like the iPod classic, it felt cheaply built and I payed slightly more for it compared to the classic. I took it back and bought a classic 120 gb which I'm satisfied with. Bad deal from MS.

Because it doesn't need it. The Zune has a Wolfson sound chip instead of the low-quality Cirrus chip used on the iPod classic. The Wolfson is the best audio chip you can currently get on a Portable Media Player.

Hype sounds more like something you'd hear for an iPod.

Probably because you were using a bad encoder or a low bit-rate. Not the Zune's fault.

hmm must be refurbished or somethin. because the zune 120 does not have the silver around the pad. plus when did the zune 120 come with premium headphones? mustve been some deal huh...the premium headphones did come with the 80gb tho and the 80 also had the silver around pad. anywho very nice review over the device,

Kinda, Microsoft wanted Zune to be a community, so the software has sort of a social networking section, once your Zune is linked to your account you can check your personal messages on it via Wi-Fi connection, not sure if you can reply though.

Its actualy second generation. Amazon listed the 120 as third gen, and Microsoft sent them a notice telling them that its actualy second gen.

the new zune has an ARM 532MHz processor, that's an insane amount of processing power for a mere personal media player. i wonder what M$ has up their sleeve?

to put that in perspective the third generation ipod video used a mere 80 MHz ARM 7TDMI processor.

P.s its NOT third generation, MS said it themselves. its second, third gen has yet to come.

Yeah, no problem. I've got the NIV. It seems like you have a silver ring around your Zune Pad. These were only included on the 80GB. But the back is black so it may just be the gloss of the ring reflecting the light.

If you don't buy the songs from the marketplace and you upload them from your PC to the Zune, will it still have all the artist info, track info, etc. or will it just say "Unknown artist?"
