lol my sister just asked me when i was taking our Halloween decorations down... I said is do it later while im on the party city website and saw the mask on sale for $10?! now I think may have to leave the spiderwebs at red bows to the columns on our porch and mAke jAck! lol =]]
@mrt12600 The head is a halloween mask. I blacked out the openings with black tape and filled the head with expanding foam. The original hands were made of 1/2 pvc pipes, but now I have remade the hands out of wire hangers covered with modeling clay. I don't have any way to send you pics. You would have to send me your email address in a private message. Plus, Jack is in storage right now so I'm not sure when I could take more photos. Sorry.
@Fuzzyfezz I made the head out of paper mache and the body was a wire frame with fabric covering it. Since this video I made a new Zero. I made a skeletal frame work of half inch pvc pipe and draped it with white felt fabric. I used the old paper mache head and placed it all on a wood stand similar to the one I put Jack on. I have a photo of the new version, but everything is in storage now so I can't give exact details. If you email me I can send you the new photos.
Ha! I love it, I wish I could have seen your house being as I am in Japan in the Air Force. We live in dorms and towers and the Japanese folk, although quite obsessed with Jack around Halloween, don't really go out of their way to think outside the box they way you have when decorating their houses. I am really glad you showed how to go about making it on your own, I wish I had you to teach me!
Thanks. I really had fun making Jack. When I put him up I wasn't sure if my neighbors would like him, because it is a bit odd. But most people see the fun of it.
Thanks for the nice comment. I tried to get some night photos, but they didn't come out. I didn't have a strong enough flash for my camera. This year I have Jack set up at work and I made a new Zero.
I'm glad you like my Jack. I have fixed him up a bit since I made this video. Last year I made him a real Santa suit and this year I added better hands. I also re-did Zero. I should make a new video from the snap shots I have. Right now I have him set up at work instead of on my balcony.
Thanks Becky. I bet you could do something like this, it just takes a little imagination and lots of time. From the looks of your videos you have the imagination :-)
Thanks so much. I bet you could make one. It was fairly simple. This year I made a new set of clothes for him and he looked a lot better, but I forgot to take photos of the new improved Jack. I think next I will use him for Halloween.
Thanks Annya. The fire had me stumped for a while. I wasn't sure how to make it, but crinkled aluminum foil and orange halloween lights seemed to do the trick.
Gosh, thanks for the great review Lennie. I had so much fun making it. I was going to make a how to video as I went along, but because I was just winging it and I didn't have anyone to film it. I thought if I just showed some still photos of the process anyone that wanted to try to make one could probably figure it out.
Thanks Joanie. Yep. I figured out how to build him all by myself. It took longer than I thought it would, but I think he came out pretty good. I had fun trying to think up ways to make everything. It was sort of like doing a puzzle. Fun :-)
Really cool

Wow! You did a great job here. Probably the most original Christmas decoration I've ever seen. Very creative. ^_^ *thumbs up*
I like the drawing you did beforehand, it reminds me of Leonardo Da Vinci's notebooks (when he imagined various machines) :)
