Very good review on a great little pistol. I've owned literally hundreds of handguns over the years and Heckler & Koch (pronounced COKE) has been one of my favorites since I bought my first in the '70s (a P9S). I also carried a P7M8 for the last 7 or 8 years of my career (I retired from the NJSP in '91). They make a great weapon.
I just picked up a P2000 SK .40 S&W and am very happy with it. It's a sweet shooter and very easy to conceal.

Goods: its slim and with the 7rd mag its concealable in a pocket...well a little bit deeper one. Ambi mag release is great. The ease of changing out the backstrap is also great ( better than a roll pin on my xdm9 )
Bads: Low capacity, could get spare 8 rd...but thats also a 2nd bad thing, mags are expensive.
Careful if you use the thumbs forward technique and have long thumbs....might shoot them off. Not a great gun to shoot alot of rounds at the range but a good CCW.
In the movie "Live Free or Die Hard" (2007) I remember seeing that female assassin (Mai) use a suppressed HK P2000SK in a power plant. I don't know what caliber, but it was definitely a subcompact HK.

Damn, thats pretty expensive. Did you ever consider another 1911? for a couple hundred dollars more you could get something like a springfield or low end kimber. I've got the older USP .45 and it shoots great, but I still think they are a bit overpriced. Anyways, alot of good info. Thanks for the vid.
Have you been able to shoot it yet? While I was with the Border Patrol, I probably shot about 10,000 rounds through mine. Loved it! Especially the trigger pull. I didn't have the subcompact, had the full size.
I got the same gun, V3 trigger. So you got 3 mags, laser, AND night sights with yours for that price?!! That's amazing. I got 2 mags and regular white dot sights. I still thought it was a good deal but wow that's a great deal. I love mine and you will love the SK too!
p2000 is a great gun..you can't go wrong with h&k... us customs and border patrol us the p2000. the barrel is awesome and is best out of the box hands down...
I looked at an H&K P200SK for my wife and the only thing we really liked about it was how light the slide spring was. It was used so that's probably why it was so light. How's yours, being new and all. It was sharp looking, but she liked my Springfield XDM-9 so much that I got her an XD-9 subcompact and we both love it. Have you looked at the XDM? For about $650 w/ tax, it's the single best pistol I have ever shot. Crisp and clean trigger and the match grade barrel makes it a true tack driver.
I own the V3 in 40 S&W. Great gun. Not for larger hands. The chamber indicator has cheap orange paint that scratches off easily. I've put around 500 rounds through mine with no malfunctions. If you don't like the heavy DA first shot of the V3 then try the V2 with a lighter DAO trigger. The biggest downside is that Crimson Trace does not make H&K grips. hopefully that will change, but other than that it is a durable and reliable piece.

nice gun, great design, P2000sk in 357sig is an ideal personal weapon. I can never see the reason for a rail system on a subcompact pistol, defeats the purpose of "compact". Armalaser - RSS Laser Sight would seem to be a solution if you really must.

i love the usp! ur gun is hella nice to. germany makes good shit. Since u like german made products, i advise u to check out the gsg-5 . Its a mp5 clone, only in semiautomatic and in 22 lr. caliber. 22lr bullets are found everywhere, even walmart!

Yes, it's very reliable. I haven't heard of someone who has had serious problems with one or is picky with ammo. It'll eat whatever you feed it; is fine with +P.

You mentioned you were looking to do something extreme with your ar-15, have you ever looked into a five seven upper? I remembering seeing your review on your FNH five seven handgun, it would be cool to have an ar-15 chambered in that same round, just a suggestion. Sweet gun btw.

Damn, thats pretty expensive. Did you ever consider another 1911? for a couple hundred dollars more you could get something like a springfield or low end kimber. I've got the older USP .45 and it shoots great, but I still think they are a bit overpriced. Anyways, alot of good info. Thanks for the vid.

Have you been able to shoot it yet? While I was with the Border Patrol, I probably shot about 10,000 rounds through mine. Loved it! Especially the trigger pull. I didn't have the subcompact, had the full size.

I got the same gun, V3 trigger. So you got 3 mags, laser, AND night sights with yours for that price?!! That's amazing. I got 2 mags and regular white dot sights. I still thought it was a good deal but wow that's a great deal. I love mine and you will love the SK too!

p2000 is a great gun..you can't go wrong with h&k... us customs and border patrol us the p2000. the barrel is awesome and is best out of the box hands down...

I looked at an H&K P200SK for my wife and the only thing we really liked about it was how light the slide spring was. It was used so that's probably why it was so light. How's yours, being new and all. It was sharp looking, but she liked my Springfield XDM-9 so much that I got her an XD-9 subcompact and we both love it. Have you looked at the XDM? For about $650 w/ tax, it's the single best pistol I have ever shot. Crisp and clean trigger and the match grade barrel makes it a true tack driver.

I own the V3 in 40 S&W. Great gun. Not for larger hands. The chamber indicator has cheap orange paint that scratches off easily. I've put around 500 rounds through mine with no malfunctions. If you don't like the heavy DA first shot of the V3 then try the V2 with a lighter DAO trigger. The biggest downside is that Crimson Trace does not make H&K grips. hopefully that will change, but other than that it is a durable and reliable piece.

nice gun, great design, P2000sk in 357sig is an ideal personal weapon. I can never see the reason for a rail system on a subcompact pistol, defeats the purpose of "compact". Armalaser - RSS Laser Sight would seem to be a solution if you really must.
Cats are the HK's of the pet world....

I hate to bring this up, but surely your neighbors would have a fit if they knew you were flailing that loaded weapon around while filming a review. Not that you'd miss it, but I kept thinking you would accidentally shoot your cat. Oh, and the proper pronunciation for Koch is like "coke" with a drawn out 'ch' There isn't an English sound like it. i love the usp! ur gun is hella nice to. germany makes good shit. Since u like german made products, i advise u to check out the gsg-5 . Its a mp5 clone, only in semiautomatic and in 22 lr. caliber. 22lr bullets are found everywhere, even walmart!

9mm is getting very hard to find now days, you are right. No body has any 9mm in stock for sale, at least here where I live. The only place that has some left is my local gunshop, but they only sell them for in range use only. The same goes for .223 rem., not even Walmart has any left for quite some time now. This sucks...

Yes, it's very reliable. I haven't heard of someone who has had serious problems with one or is picky with ammo. It'll eat whatever you feed it; is fine with +P.
